نَزَلَتْ فِي خَوَّاتِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِ‌[4] وَ كَانَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ص فِي الْخَنْدَقِ وَ هُوَ صَائِمٌ وَ أَمْسَى عَلَى تِلْكَ الْحَالِ وَ كَانُوا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنْزِلَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ إِذَا نَامَ أَحَدُهُمْ حَرُمَ عَلَيْهِ الطَّعَامُ- فَجَاءَ خَوَّاتٌ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ حِينَ أَمْسَى فَقَالَ عِنْدَكُمْ طَعَامٌ فَقَالُوا لَا تَنَمْ‌[1] حَتَّى نَصْنَعَ لَكَ طَعَاماً فَاتَّكَى فَنَامَ قَالُوا قَدْ فَعَلْتَ قَالَ

Hadith.1935 - Abu Basir narrated from one of the Imams (as) regarding the verse of Allah (swt), the Exalted: "And eat and drink until the white thread becomes distinct to you from the black thread of dawn" (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:187). يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا لِي أَرَاكَ كَئِيباً حَزِيناً قَالَ يَا جَبْرَئِيلُ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ فِي لَيْلَتِي هَذِهِ يَصْعَدُونَ مِنْبَرِي مِنْ بَعْدِي يُضِلُّونَ النَّاسَ عَنِ الصِّرَاطِ الْقَهْقَرَى فَقَالَ وَ الَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ نَبِيّاً إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْ‌ءٌ مَا اطَّلَعْتُ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ عَرَجَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ بِآيٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ يُؤْنِسُهُ بِهَا- أَ فَر

Hadith.2022 - It is narrated that the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, was shown in his dream that the sons of Umayyah would ascend his pulpit after him, leading people astray and turning them away from the straight path. كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ اللَّيْلَةُ الَّتِي يُرْجَى فِيهَا مَا يُرْجَى‌[4] أَيُّ لَيْلَةٍ هِيَ فَقَالَ فِي لَيْلَةِ إِحْدَى وَ عِشْرِينَ أَوْ ثَلَاثٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ قَالَ فَإِنْ لَمْ أَقْوَ عَلَى كِلْتَيْهِمَا فَقَالَ مَا أَيْسَرَ لَيْلَتَيْنِ فِيمَا تَطْلُبُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ رُبَّمَا رَأَيْنَا الْهِلَالَ عِنْدَنَا وَ جَاءَنَا مَنْ يُخْبِرُنَا بِخِلَافِ ذَلِكَ فِي

وَ سُئِلَ الصَّادِقُ ع‌ أَيْنَ أَرَادَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ع أَنْ يَذْبَحَ ابْنَهُ فَقَالَ عَلَى الْجَمْرَةِ الْوُسْطَى وَ لَمَّا أَرَادَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ع أَنْ يَذْبَحَ ابْنَهُ ص قَلَّبَ جَبْرَئِيلُ ع الْمُدْيَةَ وَ اجْتَرَّ الْكَبْشَ مِنْ قِبَلِ ثَبِيرٍ[1] وَ اجْتَرَّ الْغُلَامَ مِنْ تَحْتِهِ وَ وَضَعَ الْكَبْشَ مَكَانَ الْغُلَامِ وَ نُودِيَ مِنْ مَيْسَرَةِ مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ‌ أَنْ يا إِبْراهِيمُ قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ الرُّؤْيا إِن

سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ‌ أَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَنَامَ الْمُحْرِمُ عَلَى الْفِرَاشِ الْأَصْفَرِ أَوِ الْمِرْفَقَةِ[2].

"I dislike for a Muhrim to sleep on a yellow mattress or a yellow cushion."

Hadith.2684 - Al-Halabi asked him about a person in the state of ihram who covers their head unintentionally or while sleeping. Imam (as) said: "They should recite the Talbiyah when they remember."

Hadith.2687 - Zurara asked Abu Ja'far (as) about a person in the state of ihram who has flies landing on their face, preventing them from sleeping, and whether they may cover their face when they wish to sleep. Imam (as) said: "Yes."

يَحُكُّ رَأْسَهُ مَا لَمْ يَتَعَمَّدْ قَتْلَ دَابَّةٍ وَ لَا بَأْسَ بِأَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ بِالْمَاءِ وَ يَصُبَّ عَلَى رَأْسَهُ مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ مُلَبِّداً فَإِنْ كَانَ مُلَبِّداً[3] فَلَا يُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ الْمَاءَ إِلَّا مِنِ احْتِلَامٍ.

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص لِرَجُلٍ‌[2] أَصْبَحْتَ صَائِماً قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَعُدْتَ مَرِيضاً قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَاتَّبَعْتَ جَنَازَةً قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَأَطْعَمْتَ مِسْكِيناً قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَارْجِعْ إِلَى أَهْلِكَ فَأَصِبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَدَقَةٌ[3].

يَنْبَغِي لِلشَّيْخِ الْكَبِيرِ أَلَّا يَنَامَ إِلَّا وَ جَوْفُهُ مُمْتَلِئٌ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ فَإِنَّهُ أَهْدَأُ لِنَوْمِهِ وَ أَطْيَبُ لِنَكْهَتِهِ[4]

سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ خَلْقِ حَوَّاءَ وَ قِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّ أُنَاساً عِنْدَنَا يَقُولُونَ- إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ خَلَقَ حَوَّاءَ مِنْ ضِلْعِ آدَمَ الْأَيْسَرِ الْأَقْصَى فَقَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَ تَعَالَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ عُلُوّاً كَبِيراً أَ يَقُولُ مَنْ يَقُولُ هَذَا[3] إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مِنَ الْقُدْرَةِ مَا يَخْلُقُ لآِدَمَ زَوْجَةً مِنْ غَيْرِ ضِلْعِهِ وَ يَجْعَل

يُكْرَهُ أَنْ يَغْشَى الرَّجُلُ الْمَرْأَةَ وَ قَدِ احْتَلَمَ حَتَّى يَغْتَسِلَ مِنِ احْتِلَامِهِ الَّذِي رَأَى فَإِنْ فَعَلَ فَخَرَجَ الْوَلَدُ مَجْنُوناً فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ[5]

رُوِيَ‌ أَنَّهُ يُفَرَّقُ بَيْنَ الصِّبْيَانِ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ لِسِتِّ سِنِينَ‌[4].

Hadith.4508 - It is narrated: "Children should be separated in their sleeping arrangements at the age of six years."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ الصَّبِيُّ وَ الصَّبِيُّ وَ الصَّبِيُّ وَ الصَّبِيَّةُ وَ الصَّبِيَّةُ وَ الصَّبِيَّةُ يُفَرَّقُ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ لِعَشْرِ سِنِينَ‌[1].

The Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: "A boy and a boy, a boy and a girl, and a girl and a girl should be separated in their sleeping arrangements at the age of ten years."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ قَالَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ لِسُلَيْمَانَ ع يَا بُنَيَّ إِيَّاكَ وَ كَثْرَةَ النَّوْمِ بِاللَّيْلِ فَإِنَّ كَثْرَةَ النَّوْمِ بِاللَّيْلِ تَدَعُ الرَّجُلَ فَقِيراً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.

Hadith.4913 - It is narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah Al-Ansari that the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "The mother of Prophet Sulayman ibn Dawud (as) said to Sulayman, 'O my son, beware of excessive sleep at night, for excessive sleep at night leaves a person poor on the Day of Judgme

وَ قَالَ ع‌ مَا عَجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ إِلَى رَبِّهَا عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ كَعَجِيجِهَا مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ مِنْ دَمٍ حَرَامٍ يُسْفَكُ عَلَيْهَا أَوِ اغْتِسَالٍ مِنْ زِنًى أَوِ النَّوْمِ عَلَيْهَا قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ‌[4].

Hadith.4979 - Imam (as) said: "The earth has never cried out to its Lord (azj), the Mighty and Majestic, as intensely as it does because of three things: the shedding of unlawful blood upon it, bathing after engaging in unlawful sexual relations, and sleeping on it (earth) before the rising of the sun."

"لاَ يَنْبَغِي لاِمْرَأَتَيْنِ أَنْ تَنَامَا فِي لِحَافٍ وَاحِدٍ إِلاَّ وَ بَيْنَهُمَا حَاجِزٌ فَإِنْ فَعَلَتَا نُهِيَتَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَإِنْ وَجَدُوهُمَا بَعْدَ اَلنَّهْيِ فِي لِحَافٍ وَاحِدٍ جُلِدَتَا كُلُّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا حَدّاً حَدّاً وَ إِنْ وُجِدَتَا اَلثَّالِثَةَ فِي لِحَافٍ حُدَّتَا فَإِنْ وُجِدَتَا اَلرَّابِعَةَ فِي لِحَافٍ قُتِلَتَا وَ إِذَا أَتَى اَلرَّجُلُ اِمْرَأَتَهُ فَاحْتَمَلَتْ مَاءَهُ فَسَاحَقَتْ

Hadith.5050 - Abd Al-Rahman ibn Abi Hashim Al-Bajali narrated from Abu Khadijah: "It is not appropriate for two women to sleep under the same blanket unless there is a barrier between them. If they do so, they should be prohibited from it, and if they are found again after being warned in the same blanket, each of them

وَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع‌ لَا حَدَّ عَلَى مَجْنُونٍ حَتَّى يُفِيقَ وَ لَا عَلَى الصَّبِيِّ حَتَّى يُدْرِكَ وَ لَا عَلَى النَّائِمِ حَتَّى يَسْتَيْقِظَ[5].

Hadith.5076 - Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "There is no legal punishment upon a mad person until they regain sanity, nor upon a child until they reach maturity, nor upon a sleeping person until they wake up."

وَ رُوِيَ‌ أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ بِرَجُلٍ إِلَى أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فَقَالَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّ هَذَا زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ احْتَلَمَ بِأُمِّي فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْحُلُمَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الظِّلِّ فَإِنْ شِئْتَ جَلَدْتُ لَكَ ظِلَّهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ ع لَكِنِّي أُوجِعُهُ لِئَلَّا يَعُودَ يُؤْذِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ‌[2].

Hadith.5136 - It has been narrated that a man brought another man to Commander of the Faithful (as) and said: "O' Commander of the Faithful, this man claimed that he had a wet dream involving my mother." Commander of the Faithful (as) replied: "A dream is like a shadow; if you wish, I will flog his shadow for you." The

أُتِيَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع بِرَجُلٍ قَدْ ضَرَبَ رَجُلًا حَتَّى انْتَقَصَ مِنْ بَصَرِهِ فَدَعَا بِرِجَالٍ مِنْ أَسْنَانِهِ ثُمَّ أَرَاهُمْ شَيْئاً فَنَظَرَ مَا انْتَقَصَ مِنْ بَصَرِهِ فَأَعْطَاهُ دِيَةَ مَا انْتَقَصَ مِنْ بَصَرِهِ‌[2].

قَضَى أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فِي رَجُلٍ أُصِيبَ إِحْدَى عَيْنَيْهِ أَنْ تُؤْخَذَ بَيْضَةُ نَعَامَةٍ فَيُمْشَى بِهَا وَ تُوثَقَ عَيْنُهُ الصَّحِيحَةُ حَتَّى لَا يُبْصِرَ بِهَا وَ يَنْتَهِيَ بَصَرُهُ‌[1] ثُمَّ يُحْسَبَ مَا بَيْنَ مُنْتَهَى بَصَرِ عَيْنِهِ الَّتِي أُصِيبَتْ وَ بَيْنَ عَيْنِهِ الصَّحِيحَةِ فَيُؤَدَّى بِحِسَابِ ذَلِكَ.

أَيُّمَا ظِئْرِ قَوْمٍ قَتَلَتْ صَبِيّاً لَهُمْ وَ هِيَ نَائِمَةٌ فَانْقَلَبَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَتَلَتْهُ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْهَا الدِّيَةُ مِنْ مَالِهَا خَاصَّةً إِنْ كَانَتْ إِنَّمَا ظَاءَرَتْ طَلَبَ الْعِزِّ وَ الْفَخْرِ وَ إِنْ كَانَتْ إِنَّمَا ظَاءَرَتْ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ فَإِنَّ الدِّيَةَ عَلَى عَاقِلَتِهَا[1].

وَ رَوَى الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ‌ إِذَا بَلَغَ الْغُلَامُ أَشُدَّهُ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً وَ دَخَلَ فِي الْأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ مَا وَجَبَ عَلَى الْمُحْتَلِمِينَ احْتَلَمَ أَوْ لَمْ يَحْتَلِمْ وَ كُتِبَتْ عَلَيْهِ السَّيِّئَاتُ وَ كُتِبَتْ لَهُ الْحَسَنَاتُ وَ جَازَ لَهُ كُلُّ شَيْ‌ءٍ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ ضَعِيفاً أَوْ

"وُلِدَ عَلَى عَهْدِ أَمِيرِ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ مَوْلُودٌ لَهُ رَأْسَانِ فَسُئِلَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ يُوَرَّثُ مِيرَاثَ اِثْنَيْنِ أَوْ وَاحِدٍ فَقَالَ "يُتْرَكُ حَتَّى يَنَامَ ثُمَّ يُصَاحُ بِهِ فَإِنِ اِنْتَبَهَا جَمِيعاً مَعاً، كَانَ لَهُ مِيرَاثٌ وَاحِدٌ وَ إِنِ اِنْتَبَهَ وَاحِدٌ وَ بَقِيَ اَلْآخَرُ نَائِماً وُرِّثَ مِيرَاثَ اِثْنَيْنِ".

"During the time of the Commander of the Faithful (as), a child was born with two heads. Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) was asked whether this child should inherit as one person or as two. Imam Ali (as) replied: 'Let the child sleep, then call out to them. If both heads wake up together, the child inherits as one person.

وَ قَالَ الصَّادِقُ ع‌[2] النَّوْمُ رَاحَةٌ لِلْجَسَدِ وَ النُّطْقُ رَاحَةٌ لِلرُّوحِ وَ السُّكُوتُ رَاحَةٌ لِلْعَقْلِ‌[3].

Hadith.5865 - Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as), peace be upon him, said: "Sleep is rest for the body, speech is rest for the soul, and silence is rest for the mind."

أَصْبَحْتُ وَ لِيَ رَبٌّ فَوْقِي وَ النَّارُ أَمَامِي وَ الْمَوْتُ يَطْلُبُنِي وَ الْحِسَابُ مُحْدِقٌ بِي وَ أَنَا مُرْتَهَنٌ بِعَمَلِي لَا أَجِدُ مَا أُحِبُّ وَ لَا أَدْفَعُ مَا أَكْرَهُ وَ الْأُمُورُ بِيَدِ غَيْرِي فَإِنْ شَاءَ عَذَّبَنِي وَ إِنْ شَاءَ عَفَا عَنِّي فَأَيُّ فَقِيرٍ أَفْقَرُ مِنِّي‌[3].
