Imam Ali

وَ قَالَ ع‌ أَحْسِنُوا جِوَارَ نِعَمِ اللَّهِ‌[6] وَ احْذَرُوا أَنْ تَنْتَقِلَ عَنْكُمْ إِلَى غَيْرِكُمْ أَمَا إِنَّهَا لَنْ تَنْتَقِلَ‌[7] عَنْ أَحَدٍ قَطُّ فَكَادَتْ تَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِ وَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ع‌[8] يَقُولُ قَلَّ مَا أَدْبَرَ شَيْ‌ءٌ فَأَقْبَلَ.

Hadith.1706 - Imam (as) said: "Be kind in your dealings with Allah’s (swt) blessings, and beware of them being transferred from you to others. Indeed, once blessings leave someone, they rarely return to them." And Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) used to say: "Rarely does something that departs com

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِي الْعَبْدِ حَاجَةٌ ابْتَلَاهُ بِالْبُخْلِ‌[3].

Hadith.1717 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "If Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, has no need for a servant, He tests him with miserliness."

وَ سَمِعَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع رَجُلًا يَقُولُ الشَّحِيحُ أَعْذَرُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِ‌[4] فَقَالَ لَهُ كَذَبْتَ إِنَّ الظَّالِمَ قَدْ يَتُوبُ وَ يَسْتَغْفِرُ وَ يَرُدُّ الظُّلَامَةَ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا وَ الشَّحِيحُ إِذَا شَحَّ مَنَعَ الزَّكَاةَ وَ الصَّدَقَةَ وَ صِلَةَ الرَّحِمِ وَ إِقْرَاءَ الضَّيْفِ‌[5] وَ النَّفَقَةَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ‌ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ أَبْوَابَ الْبِرِّ وَ حَرَامٌ عَلَى الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ يَدْخُلَه

Hadith.1718 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) heard a man saying, "The miser is more excusable than the oppressor." He said to him: "You have lied. Indeed, the oppressor may repent, seek forgiveness, and restore the injustice to its rightful owners. But the miser, when he becomes miserly, with

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ أَوَّلُ مَا يُبْدَأُ بِهِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ صَدَقَةُ الْمَاءِ يَعْنِي فِي الْأَجْرِ.

Hadith.1722 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "The first thing to be rewarded in the Hereafter is the charity of providing water."

يَنْبَغِي لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يُوَسِّعَ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ لِئَلَّا يَتَمَنَّوْا مَوْتَهُ[5]

وَ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع‌ ضَمِنْتُ‌[3] عَلَى رَبِّي عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَنْ لَا يَسْأَلَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَاجَةٍ إِلَّا اضْطَرَّتْهُ الْمَسْأَلَةُ يَوْماً إِلَى أَنْ يَسْأَلَ مِنْ حَاجَةٍ.

Hadith.1752 - Imam Ali ibn Al-Husayn (as) said: "I have taken a pledge from my Lord (azj), the Mighty and Glorious, that anyone who asks without necessity will one day be compelled by circumstances to beg for a real need."

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ اتَّبِعُوا قَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص إِنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ فَتَحَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بَابَ مَسْأَلَةٍ فَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ بَابَ فَقْرٍ.

Hadith.1753 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), said: "Follow the saying of the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) where he said: 'Whoever opens a door of begging for themselves, Allah (swt) will open for them a door of poverty.'"

وَ قَالَ ع‌ اسْتَغْنُوا عَنِ النَّاسِ وَ لَوْ بِشَوْصِ السِّوَاكِ‌[3].

Hadith.1759 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), said: "Be independent of people, even if it is with the splinters of a toothstick."

وَ رُوِيَ عَنْ مَسْعَدَةَ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ ع عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع‌ أَنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع بَعَثَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ بِخَمْسَةِ أَوْسَاقٍ مِنْ تَمْرِ الْبُغَيْبِغَةِ[4] وَ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ‌

وَ كَتَبَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُوسَى الرِّضَا ع إِلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ مِنْ جَوَابِ مَسَائِلِهِ‌ عِلَّةُ الصَّوْمِ لِعِرْفَانِ مَسِّ الْجُوعِ وَ الْعَطَشِ لِيَكُونَ ذَلِيلًا مُسْتَكِيناً مَأْجُوراً مُحْتَسِباً صَابِراً وَ يَكُونَ ذَلِكَ دَلِيلًا لَهُ عَلَى شَدَائِدِ الْآخِرَةِ مَعَ مَا فِيهِ مِنَ الِانْكِسَارِ لَهُ عَنِ الشَّهَوَاتِ وَاعِظاً لَهُ فِي الْعَاجِلِ دَلِيلًا عَلَى الْآجِلِ لِي

جَاءَ نَفَرٌ مِنَ‌ الْيَهُودِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فَسَأَلَهُ أَعْلَمُهُمْ عَنْ مَسَائِلَ فَكَانَ فِيمَا سَأَلَهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَهُ لِأَيِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ الصَّوْمَ عَلَى أُمَّتِكَ بِالنَّهَارِ ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْماً وَ فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْأُمَمِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص إِنَّ آدَمَ ع لَمَّا أَكَلَ مِنَ الشَّجَرَةِ بَقِيَ فِي بَطْنِهِ ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْماً فَفَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَل

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ صِيَامُ شَهْرِ الصَّبْرِ[1] وَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ يَذْهَبْنَ بِبَلَابِلِ الصَّدْرِ وَ صِيَامُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ- مَنْ جاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثالِها

Hadith.1789 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Fasting the month of patience (Month of Ramadan) and three days of every month removes the anxieties of the chest. وَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْماً تَطَوُّعاً أَدْخَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ الْجَنَّةَ.

Hadith.1801 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said that the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: "Whoever fasts a day voluntarily, Allah (swt), the Almighty, will admit him to Paradise."

كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي وَ أَنَا غُلَامٌ فَتَعَشَّيْنَا عِنْدَ الرِّضَا ع- لَيْلَةَ خَمْسَةٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ لَيْلَةُ خَمْسَةٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ وُلِدَ فِيهَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ع‌[3] وَ وُلِدَ فِيهَا عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ع وَ فِيهَا دُحِيَتِ الْأَرْضُ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْكَعْبَةِ[4] فَمَنْ صَامَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ كَانَ كَمَنْ صَامَ سِتِّينَ شَهْراً.

قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ- لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ عِيدٌ غَيْرُ الْعِيدَيْنِ قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا حَسَنُ وَ أَعْظَمُهُمَا وَ أَشْرَفُهُمَا قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ فَأَيُّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ قَالَ هُوَ يَوْمٌ نُصِبَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع عَلَماً لِلنَّاسِ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ وَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ قَالَ إِنَّ الْأَيَّامَ تَدُورُ وَ هُوَ يَوْمُ ثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ قَالَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ وَ مَا يَنْبَغِي لَنَا أَنْ

وَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع‌ لَمَّا حَضَرَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَ أَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ كَفَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَدُوَّكُمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ وَ قَالَ‌ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ‌ وَ وَعَدَكُمُ الْإِجَابَةَ أَلَا وَ قَدْ وَكَّلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِكُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ مَرِيدٍ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ مَلَائِكَتِهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمَحْلُولٍ حَتَّى يَنْقَضِيَ شَهْرُكُمْ هَذَا

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌[2] إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْهِلَالَ فَلَا تَبْرَحْ وَ قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذَا الشَّهْرِ وَ فَتْحَهُ وَ نُورَهُ وَ نَصْرَهُ وَ بَرَكَتَهُ وَ طَهُورَهُ وَ رِزْقَهُ وَ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِيهِ وَ خَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِيهِ وَ شَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ اللَّهُمَّ أَدْخِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَ الْإِيمَانِ وَ السَّلَامَةِ وَ الْإِسْلَامِ وَ الْ

وَ كَانَ مِنْ قَوْلِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع عِنْدَ رُؤْيَةِ الْهِلَالِ أَيُّهَا الْخَلْقُ الْمُطِيعُ الدَّائِبُ السَّرِيعُ‌[1] الْمُتَرَدِّدُ فِي فَلَكِ التَّدْبِيرِ الْمُتَصَرِّفُ فِي مَنَازِلِ التَّقْدِيرِ[2] آمَنْتُ بِمَنْ نَوَّرَ بِكَ الظُّلَمَ وَ أَضَاءَ بِكَ الْبُهَمَ‌[3] وَ جَعَلَكَ آيَةً مِنْ آيَاتِ سُلْطَانِهِ‌[4] وَ امْتَهَنَكَ بِالزِّيَادَةِ وَ النُّقْصَانِ‌[5] وَ الطُّلُوعِ وَ الْأُفُولِ وَ الْإِنَارَةِ

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌[3] عَلَيْكُمْ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ بِكَثْرَةِ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ وَ الدُّعَاءِ فَأَمَّا الدُّعَاءُ فَيَدْفَعُ عَنْكُمُ الْبَلَاءَ[4] وَ أَمَّا الِاسْتِغْفَارُ فَتُمْحَى بِهِ ذُنُوبُكُمْ‌[5].

Hadith.1858 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "During the Month of Ramadan, engage abundantly in seeking forgiveness and supplication. As for supplication, it wards off affliction from you, and as for seeking forgiveness, it erases your sins."

وَ كَانَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَحْتَجِمَ اَلصَّائِمُ خَشْيَةَ أَنْ يُغْشَى عَلَيْهِ فَيُفْطِرَ.

Hadith.1865 - Amir al-Mu'minin (as) disliked that a fasting person perform cupping (hijamah) out of fear that he might faint and thus break his fast.

فَقَدْ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ أَ مَا يَسْتَحْيِي أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ لَا يَصْبِرَ يَوْماً إِلَى اللَّيْلِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ يُقَالُ إِنَّ بَدْءَ الْقِتَالِ اللِّطَامُ‌[4]. وَ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَصِقَ بِأَهْلِهِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَأَدْفَقَ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ عِتْقُ رَقَبَةٍ[5].

Hadith.1875 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Does one of you not feel ashamed that they cannot endure (fasting) until the evening? It was said in the past that the beginning of fighting is slapping."

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْهِلَالَ فَأَفْطِرُوا أَوْ شَهِدَ عَلَيْهِ عَدْلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ‌[4] وَ إِنْ لَمْ تَرَوُا

Hadith.1911 - In the narration of Muhammad ibn Qays from Abu Ja'far (as), who said that Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), said: "When you see the crescent, break your fast, or if a trustworthy Muslim testifies to seeing it, then break your fast. وَ فِي رِوَايَةِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَنَّ عَلِيّاً ع كَانَ يَقُولُ‌ لَا أُجِيزُ فِي رُؤْيَةِ الْهِلَالِ إِلَّا شَهَادَةَ رَجُلَيْنِ عَدْلَيْنِ.

Hadith.1912 - In the narration of al-Halabi from Abu Abdullah (as), it is reported that Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), used to say: "I do not accept the sighting of the crescent except with the testimony of two just men."

وَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع‌ لَا تُقْبَلُ شَهَادَةُ النِّسَاءِ فِي رُؤْيَةِ الْهِلَالِ إِلَّا شَهَادَةُ رَجُلَيْنِ عَدْلَيْنِ‌[1].

Hadith.1914 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), said: "The testimony of women is not accepted for the sighting of the crescent; only the testimony of two just men is accepted."

لِأَنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع قَالَ: لَأَنْ أُفْطِرَ يَوْماً مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ- أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَصُومَ يَوْماً مِنْ شَعْبَانَ أَزِيدُهُ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ‌[1].

سَمِعْتُ الرِّضَا ع يَقُولُ‌ الصَّوْمُ لِلرُّؤْيَةِ وَ الْفِطْرُ لِلرُّؤْيَةِ وَ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ صَامَ قَبْلَ الرُّؤْيَةِ لِلرُّؤْيَةِ[2] وَ أَفْطَرَ قَبْلَ الرُّؤْيَةِ لِلرُّؤْيَةِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ فَمَا تَرَى فِي صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الشَّكِّ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع لَأَنْ أَصُومَ يَوْماً مِنْ شَهْرِ شَعْبَانَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ م

"I heard al-Ridha (as) say: 'Fasting is based on the sighting [of the crescent], and breaking the fast is based on the sighting [of the crescent]. Whoever fasts before sighting the crescent for the sake of sighting, or breaks the fast before sighting the crescent for the sake of sighting, is not one of us.'" I said to

«إِنَّ اَللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى وَ مَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى اَلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ وَ اَلْمُتَسَحِّرِينَ بِالْأَسْحَارِ فَلْيَتَسَحَّرْ أَحَدُكُمْ وَ لَوْ بِشَرْبَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ.

Hadith.1961 - It is narrated from Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) that the Prophet (sw) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Indeed, Allah (swt), the Blessed and Exalted, and His angels send blessings upon those who seek forgiveness and those who partake in suhoor during the pre-dawn hours. وَ فِي رِوَايَةِ إِدْرِيسَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ عَنِ الرِّضَا ع‌ تَصَدَّقَ عَنْ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ بِمُدٍّ مِنْ حِنْطَةٍ أَوْ شَعِيرٍ[3].

Hadith.2012 - In a narration from Idris ibn Zayd and Ali ibn Idris, it is reported from Imam Ali ibn Musa Ar-Ridha (as) that: "He should give charity for each day with a mud (a measure) of wheat or barley."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ مِنْ فِقْهِ الضَّيْفِ أَنْ لَا يَصُومَ تَطَوُّعاً إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ صَاحِبِهِ وَ مِنْ طَاعَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ لِزَوْجِهَا أَنْ لَا تَصُومَ تَطَوُّعاً إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ وَ أَمْرِهِ وَ مِنْ صَلَاحِ الْعَبْدِ وَ طَاعَتِهِ وَ نَصِيحَتِهِ لِمَوْلَاهُ أَنْ لَا يَصُومَ تَطَوُّعاً إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ مَوْلَاهُ وَ مِنْ بِرِّ الْوَلَدِ بِأَبَوَيْهِ أَنْ لَا يَصُومَ تَطَوُّعاً إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ أَبَوَيْهِ وَ أَمْرِ

يُغْتَسَلُ فِي ثَلَاثِ لَيَالٍ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِي تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ وَ إِحْدَى وَ عِشْرِينَ وَ ثَلَاثٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ وَ أُصِيبَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فِي تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ وَ قُبِضَ ع فِي إِحْدَى وَ عِشْرِينَ قَالَ‌ وَ الْغُسْلُ فِي أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ وَ هُوَ يُجْزِي إِلَى آخِرِهِ‌[1].

قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ص‌ لَا تَقُولُوا رَمَضَانُ وَ لَكِنْ قُولُوا شَهْرُ رَمَضانَ‌ فَإِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْرُونَ مَا رَمَضَانُ‌[1].

Hadith.2051 - It is narrated from Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Abdullah (as), from his father (as), from his grandfather (as), who said that Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Do not say 'Ramadan'; rather, say 'the Month of Ramadan,' for you do not know what 'Ramadan' is."

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ص‌ يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ أَهْلَهُ- أَوَّلَ لَيْلَةٍ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ لِقَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- أُحِلَّ لَكُمْ لَيْلَةَ الصِّيامِ الرَّفَثُ إِلى‌ نِسائِكُمْ‌

Hadith.2052 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "It is recommended for a man to go to his wife on the first night of the Month of Ramadan, based on the saying of Allah (swt), the Almighty: 'It has been made lawful for you to be intimate with your wives during the night of fasting.' مَنْ أَدَّى زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرَةِ تَمَّمَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهَا مَا نَقَصَ مِنْ زَكَاةِ مَالِهِ.

Hadith.2084 - In a narration from Al-Sakuni, with his chain of transmission, it is reported that Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Whoever pays Zakat al-Fitr, Allah (swt) will complete with it whatever is lacking in the Zakat of his wealth."

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ مَا مِنْ مُهِلٍّ يُهِلُّ فِي التَّلْبِيَةِ إِلَّا أَهَلَّ مَنْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ مِنْ شَيْ‌ءٍ إِلَى مَقْطَعِ التُّرَابِ وَ مَنْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ إِلَى مَقْطَعِ التُّرَابِ وَ قَالَ لَهُ الْمَلَكَانِ أَبْشِرْ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ وَ مَا يُبَشِّرُ اللَّهُ عَبْداً إِلَّا بِالْجَنَّةِ[2].

مَنْ حَجَّ بِثَلَاثَةٍ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقَدِ اشْتَرَى نَفْسَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِالثَّمَنِ وَ لَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ مِنْ أَيْنَ اكْتَسَبَ مَالَهُ مِنْ حَلَالٍ أَوْ حَرَامٍ[4]

قَدْ آثَرْتَ اَلْحَجَّ عَلَى اَلْجِهَادِ وَ قَدْ قَالَ اَللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ «۝ إِنَّ اَللّٰهَ اِشْتَرىٰ مِنَ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَ أَمْوٰالَهُمْ بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ اَلْجَنَّةَ ۝» إِلَى آخِرِهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ اَلْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِمَا اَلسَّلاَمُ «فَاقْرَأْ مَا بَعْدَهَا فَقَالَ «۝ اَلتّٰائِبُونَ اَلْعٰابِدُونَ اَلْحٰامِدُونَ ۝» إِلَى أَنْ بَلَغَ آخِرَ اَلْآيَةِ فَقَالَ «إِذَا رَأَيْتَ هَؤُلاَءِ فَ

Hadith.2220 - A man came to Imam Ali ibn Al-Husayn (as) and said: "You have preferred Hajj over Jihad, while Allah (swt), Mighty and Majestic, says: 'Indeed, Allah (swt) has purchased from the believers their lives and their wealth in exchange for Paradise'" (Surah At-Tawbah, 9:111). Imam Ali ibn Al-Husayn (as) replied

وَ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع‌ مَنْ خَتَمَ الْقُرْآنَ بِمَكَّةَ لَمْ يَمُتْ حَتَّى يَرَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص وَ يَرَى مَنْزِلَهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ[2].

Hadith.2257 - Imam Ali ibn Al-Husayn (as) said: "Whoever completes the recitation of the Quran in Makkah will not die until they see the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and their place in Paradise."

وَ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع‌ يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ لَمْ يَحُجَّ اسْتَبْشِرُوا بِالْحَاجِّ إِذَا قَدِمُوا فَصَافِحُوهُمْ وَ عَظِّمُوهُمْ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يَجِبُ عَلَيْكُمْ تُشَارِكُوهُمْ فِي الْأَجْرِ[4].

Hadith.2264 - Imam Ali ibn Al-Husayn (as) said: "O group of those who have not performed Hajj, rejoice in the arrival of the pilgrims when they return. Greet them with handshakes and honor them, for this is an obligation upon you, and by doing so, you will share in their reward."

وَ نَزَلَتِ الْمُتْعَةُ[1] عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ص عِنْدَ الْمَرْوَةِ بَعْدَ فَرَاغِهِ مِنَ السَّعْيِ‌[2] فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ هَذَا جَبْرَئِيلُ وَ أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى خَلْفِهِ يَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ آمُرَ مَنْ لَمْ يَسُقْ هَدْياً أَنْ يُحِلَّ وَ لَوِ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ لَفَعَلْتُ كَمَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ وَ لَكِنِّي سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ‌[3] وَ لَيْسَ لِسَائِقِ الْهَدْيِ أَنْ يُحِلَ‌ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ

Hadith.2288 - It has been narrated: It is narrated that mut‘ah was revealed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, at Marwah after completing the Sa‘y. He said: "O people, this is Archangel Jibril"—and he gestured with his hand behind him—"commanding me to order those who have not brought sacri

وَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ع يَفْتَخِرُ عَلَى الصَّحَابَةِ وَ يَقُولُ مَنْ فِيكُمْ مِثْلِي وَ أَنَا شَرِيكُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فِي هَدْيِهِ مَنْ فِيكُمْ مِثْلِي وَ أَنَا الَّذِي ذَبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص هَدْيِي بِيَدِهِ.

حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا تَمِيمُ بْنُ بُهْلُولٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْعَبْدِيِ‌[3] عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ قَالَ‌ قُلْتُ لِجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ع كَمْ حَجَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فَقَالَ عِشْرِينَ حَجَّةً مُسْتَسِرّاً فِي كُلِّ حَجَّةٍ يَمُرُّ بِالْمَأْزِمَيْنِ فَيَنْزِلُ فَيَبُولُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَ لِمَ كَانَ يَنْزِلُ هُنَاكَ ف

قَالَ لَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع‌ أَيُّ الْبِقَاعِ أَفْضَلُ فَقُلْنَا اللَّهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ وَ ابْنُ رَسُولِهِ أَعْلَمُ فَقَالَ أَمَّا أَفْضَلُ الْبِقَاعِ مَا بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ وَ الْمَقَامِ وَ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا عُمِّرَ مَا عُمِّرَ نُوحٌ ع فِي قَوْمِهِ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَاماً يَصُومُ النَّهَارَ وَ يَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْمَكَانِ ثُمَّ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِغَيْرِ- وَلَايَتِنَا لَم

لِرَجُلٍ أَيُّ شَيْ‌ءٍ السَّكِينَةُ عِنْدَكُمْ فَلَمْ يَدْرِ الْقَوْمُ مَا هِيَ فَقَالُوا جَعَلَنَا اللَّهُ فِدَاكَ مَا هِيَ قَالَ رِيحٌ تَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ طَيِّبَةٌ لَهَا صُورَةٌ كَصُورَةِ الْإِنْسَانِ تَكُونُ مَعَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ ع وَ هِيَ الَّتِي أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ ع حِينَ بَنَى الْكَعْبَةَ فَأَخَذَتْ تَأْخُذُ كَذَا وَ كَذَا وَ بَنَى‌ الْأَسَاسَ عَلَيْهَا.

وَ رُوِيَ‌ أَنَّ الْحَجَّاجَ لَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ بِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ سَأَلَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ ع أَنْ يَضَعَ الْحَجَرَ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ فَأَخَذَهُ وَ وَضَعَهُ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ.

Hadith.2321 - It has been narrated: "When Al-Hajjaj completed the rebuilding of the Kaaba, he asked Imam Ali ibn Al-Husayn (as) to place the Black Stone in its position. Imam Ali ibn Al-Husayn (as) took it and placed it in its proper place."

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ مَنْ خَرَجَ فِي سَفَرٍ وَ مَعَهُ عَصَا لَوْزٍ مُرٍّ[1] وَ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ وَ لَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقاءَ مَدْيَنَ قالَ عَسى‌ رَبِّي أَنْ يَهْدِيَنِي سَواءَ السَّبِيلِ‌ إِلَى قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- وَ اللَّهُ عَلى‌ ما نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ‌ آمَنَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنْ كُلِّ سَبُعٍ ضَارٍ[2] وَ مِنْ كُلِّ لِصٍّ عَادٍ وَ كُلِّ ذَاتِ حُمَةٍ[3] حَتَّى يَ

Hadith.2409 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said that the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings of Allah (swt) be upon him and his family) said: "Whoever embarks on a journey and carries with them a bitter almond stick, and recites this verse: 'When he directed himself toward Madyan, he

وَ قَالَ ع‌ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ تُطْوَى لَهُ الْأَرْضُ فَلْيَتَّخِذِ النُّقُدَ مِنَ الْعَصَا وَ النُّقُدُ عَصَا لَوْزٍ مُرٍّ.

Hadith.2411 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Whoever desires the earth to be folded for them (making travel easier), let them use al-nuqūd from the staff, and al-nuqūd is a staff made of bitter almond wood."

وَ قَالَ ع‌ تَعَصَّوْا فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ سُنَنِ إِخْوَانِيَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَ كَانَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ الصِّغَارُ وَ الْكِبَارُ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى الْعَصَا حَتَّى لَا يَخْتَالُوا فِي مَشْيِهِمْ.

Hadith.2412 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Use a staff, for it is among the practices of my brothers, the Prophets. The children and the elders of Banu Israel would walk with staffs so that they would not become haughty in their walking."

يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَأَيْتُكَ رَفَعْتَ رَأْسَكَ وَ تَبَسَّمْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا أَصْبَغُ أَمْسَكْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص كَمَا أَمْسَكْتَ لِي فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَ تَبَسَّمَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي وَ سَأُخْبِرُكَ كَمَا أَخْبَرَنِي أَمْسَكْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص الشَّهْبَاءَ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَ تَبَسَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رَفَعْتَ رَأْسَكَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَ

Hadith.2419 - It is narrated from al-Asbagh ibn Nubata that he said: "I held the stirrup for Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) as he intended to mount. He raised his head and smiled. I said: 'O Amir al-Mu'minin, I saw you raise your head and smile.' Imam (as) replied: 'Yes, O Asbagh. I held the stir

أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع وَدِّعُوا أَخَاكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ لَا بُدَّ لِلشَّاخِصِ‌[3] أَنْ يَمْضِيَ وَ لِلْمُشَيِّعِ مِنْ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فَتَكَلَّمَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ عَلَى حِيَالِهِ‌[4] فَقَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ع رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ إِنَّمَا امْتَهَنُوكَ بِالْبَلَاءِ[5] لِأَنَّكَ مَنَعْتَهُمْ دِينَكَ فَمَنَعُوكَ دُنْيَاهُمْ فَمَا أَحْوَجَكَ غَداً إِلَى مَا مَنَعْتَهُمْ وَ أَغْنَاكَ

فِي وَصِيَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص لِعَلِيٍّ ع لَا تَخْرُجْ فِي سَفَرٍ وَحْدَكَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ مَعَ الْوَاحِدِ وَ هُوَ مِنَ الِاثْنَيْنِ أَبْعَدُ يَا عَلِيُّ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا سَافَرَ وَحْدَهُ فَهُوَ غَاوٍ وَ الِاثْنَانِ غَاوِيَانِ وَ الثَّلَاثَةُ نَفَرٌ وَ رَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ سَفْرٌ[2]
