قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ اقْرَأْ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْجُمُعَةِ بِالْجُمُعَةِ وَ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى‌ وَ فِي الْفَجْرِ بِسُورَةِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ بِالْجُمُعَةِ وَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘On Friday night recite Surah (chapter) al-Jumu‘ah and Sabbih Isma Rabbika al-‘A‘la In Friday morning recite Surah (chapter) al-Jumu‘ah and Chapter 112, and in Friday Salah (prayer) recite Surah (chapter) al-Jumu‘ah and al-Munafiqun.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about recitation on Friday when I perform Salah (prayer) alone of four Rak‘at. Can I recite aloud? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, you can recite aloud.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Recite Surah (chapter) al-Jumu‘ah and al-Munafiqun on Friday.’”

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ مَنْ صَلَّى الْجُمُعَةَ بِغَيْرِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ أَعَادَ الصَّلَاةَ[2] فِي سَفَرٍ أَوْ حَضَرٍ. - وَ رُوِيَ‌ لَا بَأْسَ فِي السَّفَرِ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ بِقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one performs Friday Salah (prayer) without reciting Surah (chapter) al-Jumu‘ah and al-Munafiqun, he is required to perform his Salah (prayer) again, on a journey or at home.’ It is narrated that it is not an offense to recite Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad, Chapter 112 on a journey.”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from certain persons of our people from Sama‘ah from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Qunut (supplication after recitation) on Friday is in the first Rak‘at after recitation in which you can read,

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘Qunut (supplication after recitation) for Friday Salah (prayer), when himself being the Imam, is in the first Rak‘at. If it is performed four Rak‘at then Qunut (supplication after recitation) is in the second Rak‘at before Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees).”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about Qunut (supplication after recitation) on Friday. He (the Imam) said, ‘You are my messenger to them in this matter. When performing in congregation, it is in the first Rak‘at, but when performing alone, it is in the second Rak‘at before Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees).”’

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ‌ يُسْتَحَبُّ أَنْ تَقْرَأَ فِي دُبُرِ الْغَدَاةِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ الرَّحْمَنَ‌[1] كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ تَقُولَ كُلَّمَا قُلْتَ- فَبِأَيِّ آلاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ‌ لَا بِشَيْ‌ءٍ مِنْ آلَائِكَ رَبِّ أُكَذِّبُ.

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘It is preferable to recite Chapter 55 of the Holy Quran after the morning Salah (prayer) on Friday morning and after reciting the verse that says, “Which of the bounties of your Lord do you then deny?” say, ‘I do not deny anyone of the bounties of my Lord.’”

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ مَنْ قَرَأَ الْكَهْفَ فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةِ جُمُعَةٍ كَانَتْ كَفَّارَةَ مَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ. - قَالَ وَ رَوَى غَيْرُهُ أَيْضاً فِيمَنْ قَرَأَهَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ وَ الْعَصْرِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one recites chapter 18 of the Holy Quran every Friday night, it serves as an expiation for the matters from this to the next Friday.’” The narrator of the Hadith has said that people other than him also have narrated about reciting this Chapter after the afternoon Salah (prayer) on

“I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), ’What time did the Messenger of Allah perform al- Witr?’ He (the Imam) said, ’Within a time like from sunset to al-Maghrib Salah (prayer).’”

“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about my traveling between Makkah and al-Madinah and in the time of Salah (prayer), we disembark where Arabs are found. Can we perform the obligatory Salah (prayer) on the ground and recite just al-Fatihah, or perform it when riding and recite al-Fatihah al-Kitab and Surah (chapter)

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that if a man is sad and depressed about something or because of an unfulfilled wish, he should perform two Rak‘at Salah (prayer). In one he should recite Chapter 112 of the Holy Quran one thousand times and in the second Rak‘at once, then ask for his wish.”

نَزَلَتْ‌ فِي خَوَّاتِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِ‌[1] وَ كَانَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ص فِي الْخَنْدَقِ وَ هُوَ صَائِمٌ فَأَمْسَى وَ هُوَ عَلَى تِلْكَ الْحَالِ وَ كَانُوا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنْزِلَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ إِذَا نَامَ أَحَدُهُمْ حُرِّمَ عَلَيْهِ الطَّعَامُ وَ الشَّرَابُ فَجَاءَ خَوَّاتٌ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ حِينَ أَمْسَى فَقَالَ هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ طَعَامٌ فَقَالُوا لَا لَا تَنَمْ حَتَّى نُصْلِحَ لَكَ طَعَاماً فَاتَّكَأَ فَنَامَ

“This is about the words of Allah, most High, ‘It is lawful for you to have carnal relation with your wives during the night of the fast. . . .’ (2:187) One of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said that it was revealed about the case of Khawwat ibn Jubayr al-Ansariy. قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ ع‌ صَلِّ لَيْلَةَ إِحْدَى وَ عِشْرِينَ وَ لَيْلَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ مِائَةَ رَكْعَةٍ تَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ- قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ.

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘In the twenty- first and twenty-third nights, you should perform salat (prayer) of one hundred Rak’ats and in each Rak’at read Chapter 112 of the Holy Quran ten times.’”
