Hadith.1380 - He (Layth al-Muradi) said: "I asked him (Abu Abdullah (as)) about a man who fears becoming ritually impure (janabah) while traveling or in cold weather and thus performs the night prayer (salat al-layl) and Witr at the beginning of the night. Imam (as) said: 'Yes.'"

سَأَلْتُهُ‌[1] عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ فَقُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ إِنَّهُمْ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهُ يَعْدِلُ صَوْمَ سَنَةٍ قَالَ كَانَ أَبِي ع لَا يَصُومُهُ قُلْتُ وَ لِمَ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ قَالَ يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ يَوْمُ دُعَاءٍ وَ مَسْأَلَةٍ فَأَتَخَوَّفُ أَنْ يُضْعِفَنِي عَنِ الدُّعَاءِ وَ أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أَصُومَهُ وَ أَتَخَوَّفُ أَنْ يَكُونَ يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ- يَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى وَ لَيْسَ بِيَوْمِ صَوْمٍ.
