Hadith.87 - It is narrated that Commander of the Faithful (as), when performing wudu, would say: Bismillahi wa billahi wa khayru al-asma’i lillah, wa akbaru al-asma’i lillah, wa qahirun liman fi as-sama’, wa qahirun liman fi al-ard. Alhamdulillahi alladhi ja‘ala mina al-ma’i kulla shay’in hayyin wa ahya qalbi bil-iman.
وَقَالَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: «لَوْ لاَ أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ يَمْسَحُ ظَاهِرَ قَدَمَيْهِ لَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ بَاطِنَهُمَا أَوْلَى بِالْمَسْحِ مِنْ ظَاهِرِهِمَا.
Hadith.93 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "If I had not seen the Messenger of Allah (sw) wiping over the tops of his feet, I would have thought that the soles of the feet should be wiped instead of the tops”.
فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ فِي الْوُضُوءِ أَنْ تَبْدَأَ الْمَرْأَةُ بِبَاطِنِ ذِرَاعِهَا وَ الرَّجُلُ بِظَاهِرِ الذِّرَاعِ[4]
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع إِنَّ أَفْوَاهَكُمْ طُرُقُ الْقُرْآنِ فَطَهِّرُوهَا بِالسِّوَاكِ.
Hadith.112 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Your mouths are the pathways of the Quran, so purify them with siwak (toothstick)."
وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص فِي وَصِيَّتِهِ لِعَلِيٍّ ع يَا عَلِيُّ عَلَيْكَ بِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ وُضُوءِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ.
Hadith.113 - The Prophet (sw), said in his will to Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as): "O’ Ali (as), make sure to use siwak (toothstick) before wudu (ablution) for every prayer."
وَ قَالَ ع- السِّوَاكُ شَطْرُ الْوُضُوءِ.
Hadith.114 - Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Siwak (tooth cleaning) is half of wudu (ablution)."
وَ كَتَبَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُوسَى الرِّضَا ع إِلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ مِنْ جَوَابِ مَسَائِلِهِ أَنَّ عِلَّةَ الْوُضُوءِ الَّتِي مِنْ أَجْلِهَا صَارَ عَلَى الْعَبْدِ غَسْلُ الْوَجْهِ وَ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ وَ مَسْحُ الرَّأْسِ وَ الْقَدَمَيْنِ فَلِقِيَامِهِ[3] بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَ اسْتِقْبَالِهِ إِيَّاهُ بِجَوَارِحِهِ الظَّاهِرَةِ وَ مُلَاقَاتِهِ بِهَا الْكِرَامَ الْكَاتِبِينَ[4
Hadith.128 - Abu Al-Hasan Imam Ali ibn Musa Ar-Ridha (as) wrote to Muhammad ibn Sinan in response to his questions: "The reason for wudu (ablution), for which it has become obligatory for a servant to wash the face and arms, and to wipe the head and feet, is to prepare to stand before Allah (swt) Almighty, to face Him
كَانَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع لَا يَرَى فِي الْمَذْيِ وُضُوءاً وَ لَا غَسْلَ مَا أَصَابَ الثَّوْبَ مِنْهُ[1].
Hadith.149 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) did not consider the pre-seminal fluid (madhi) to invalidate ablution or require ritual wash, nor did he deem it necessary to wash clothing that had been affected by it”.
لَبَنُ الْجَارِيَةِ وَ بَوْلُهَا يُغْسَلُ مِنْهُ الثَّوْبُ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْعَمَ لِأَنَّ لَبَنَهَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْ مَثَانَةِ أُمِّهَا[6] وَ لَبَنُ الْغُلَامِ لَا يُغْسَلُ مِنْهُ الثَّوْبُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَطْعَمَ وَ لَا بَوْلُهُ[7] لِأَنَّ لَبَنَ الْغُلَامِ يَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْمَنْكِبَيْنِ وَ الْعَضُدَيْنِ.
Hadith.157 - It has been narrated from The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as): 'The milk and urine of a baby girl must be washed from clothing before She starts eating solid food because her milk is considered to come from her mother’s bladder. Hadith.159 - Ibrahim ibn Abi Mahmoud asked Imam Ali ibn Musa Ar-Ridha (as) about rug (al tanfasah) or mattress (al firash) that is affected by urine, especially if it is thick and heavily padded. Imam (as) said: 'You should wash the surface that is visible.'.
فِي اَلْحَمَّامِ وَ فِي رِجْلَيْهِ اَلشُّقَاقُ فَيَطَأُ اَلْبَوْلَ وَ اَلنُّورَةَ فَيَدْخُلُ اَلشُّقَاقَ أَثَرٌ أَسْوَدُ مِمَّا وَطِئَهُ مِنَ اَلْقَذَرِ وَ قَدْ غَسَلَهُ كَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ بِهِ وَ بِرِجْلِهِ اَلَّتِي وَطِئَ بِهَا أَ يُجْزِيهِ اَلْغَسْلُ أَمْ يُخَلِّلُ [أَظْفَارَهُ] بِأَظْفَارِهِ وَ يَسْتَنْجِي فَيَجِدُ اَلرِّيحَ مِنْ أَظْفَارِهِ وَ لاَ يَرَى شَيْئاً فَقَالَ «لاَ شَيْءَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ اَلرِّيحِ وَ اَلشُّق

وَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع- مَا أُبَالِي أَ بَوْلٌ أَصَابَنِي أَوْ مَاءٌ إِذَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ[4].
Hadith.166 - Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: 'I do not concern myself with whether urine or water has touched me if I am unaware of it.'.
وَ كَتَبَ الرِّضَا ع إِلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ- فِيمَا كَتَبَ مِنْ جَوَابِ مَسَائِلِهِ- عِلَّةُ غُسْلِ الْجَنَابَةِ النَّظَافَةُ لِتَطْهِيرِ الْإِنْسَانِ مِمَّا أَصَابَ مِنْ أَذَاهُ[2] وَ تَطْهِيرِ سَائِرِ جَسَدِهِ لِأَنَّ الْجَنَابَةَ خَارِجَةٌ مِنْ كُلِّ جَسَدِهِ فَلِذَلِكَ وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ تَطْهِيرُ جَسَدِهِ كُلِّهِ وَ عِلَّةُ التَّخْفِيفِ فِي الْبَوْلِ وَ الْغَائِطِ أَنَّهُ أَكْثَرُ وَ أَدْوَمُ[3] مِنَ الْجَن
Hadith.171 - Imam Ali ibn Musa Ar-Ridha (as) wrote to Muhammad ibn Sinan in response to his questions: 'The reason for the ghusl (ritual bath) of janabah (ritual impurity from sexual discharge) is for cleanliness, to purify a person from what has affected them and to cleanse their entire body, because janabah involves
وَ قَالَ وَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصِيبُ الْمَرْأَةَ فَلَا يُنْزِلُ أَ عَلَيْهِ غُسْلٌ قَالَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ع يَقُولُ إِذَا مَسَّ الْخِتَانُ الْخِتَانَ فَقَدْ وَجَبَ الْغُسْلُ.
Hadith.184 - Al-Halabi said: ‘Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq {a.s} was asked about a man who engages in sexual relations with a woman but does not ejaculate. وَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ع يَقُولُ كَيْفَ لَا يُوجِبُ الْغُسْلَ وَ الْحَدُّ يَجِبُ فِيهِ[3] وَ قَالَ يَجِبُ عَلَيْهِ الْمَهْرُ وَ الْغُسْلُ.
Hadith.185 - Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) would say: 'How can ghusl (ritual bathing) not be obligatory when the Hadd (prescribed punishment) is applicable in such a case (if it is adultery)?". Imam (as) said: 'The dowry and ghusl become obligatory upon him’
فِي بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ اَللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وتَعَالَى حَبَسَ عَلَيْهِ اَلْحَيْضَةَ فَجَعَلَهَا رِزْقَهُ فِي بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ.

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فِي امْرَأَةٍ ادَّعَتْ أَنَّهَا حَاضَتْ فِي شَهْرٍ وَاحِدٍ ثَلَاثَ حِيَضٍ إِنَّهُ تُسْأَلُ نِسْوَةٌ مِنْ بِطَانَتِهَا[3] هَلْ كَانَ حَيْضُهَا فِيمَا مَضَى عَلَى مَا ادَّعَتْ فَإِنْ شَهِدْنَ صُدِّقَتْ وَ إِلَّا فَهِيَ كَاذِبَةٌ.

أَ كَانَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع- يَنْهَى عَنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ فِي الْحَمَّامِ فَقَالَ لَا إِنَّمَا نَهَى أَنْ يَقْرَأَ الرَّجُلُ وَ هُوَ عُرْيَانٌ فَإِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ إِزَارٌ فَلَا بَأْسَ.

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع نِعْمَ الْبَيْتُ الْحَمَّامُ تُذَكَّرُ فِيهِ النَّارُ وَ يَذْهَبُ بِالدَّرَنِ.
Hadith.237 - The Commander of the Faithful (as) said: 'What a good place the bathhouse is, where one is reminded of the Fire (Hellfire) and it removes filth.'
قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَ أَبِي وَ جَدِّي وَ عَمِّي حَمَّاماً فِي الْمَدِينَةِ- فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَسْلَخِ فَقَالَ لَنَا مِمَّنِ الْقَوْمُ فَقُلْنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ- فَقَالَ وَ أَيُّ الْعِرَاقِ فَقُلْنَا الْكُوفِيُّونَ فَقَالَ مَرْحَباً بِكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكُوفَةِ وَ أَهْلًا أَنْتُمُ الشِّعَارُ دُونَ الدِّثَارِ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَ مَا يَمْنَعُكُمْ مِنَ الْإِزَارِ[1] فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ عَوْرَ
Hadith.252 - Hanan ibn Sudayr narrated from his father: He said: 'I entered a bathhouse in Medina with my father, grandfather, and uncle. There was a man in the changing room.’ Imam (as) said: ”Where are you people from?" We replied: ”From the people of Al-Iraq” . Imam (as) said: ”Which part of Al-Iraq?” We replied: ”F
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع- النُّورَةُ طَهُورٌ[2].
Hadith.254 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Nuura (depilatory paste) is a purifier."
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع- أُحِبُّ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يَطَّلِيَ فِي كُلِّ خَمْسَةَ عَشَرَ يَوْماً.
Hadith.258 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "I like for a believer to use Nuura (depilatory paste) every fifteen days."
وَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع نَتْفُ الْإِبْطِ يَنْفِي الرَّائِحَةَ الْمَكْرُوهَةَ وَ هُوَ طَهُورٌ وَ سُنَّةٌ مِمَّا أَمَرَ بِهِ الطَّيِّبُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ السَّلَامُ[2].
Hadith.264 - Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Removing armpit hair eliminates unpleasant odors and is a means of purification and a practice (Sunnah) that was commanded by the Good and Pure Prophet (sw)."
قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع يَنْبَغِي لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يَتَوَقَّى النُّورَةَ يَوْمَ الْأَرْبِعَاءِ- فَإِنَّهُ يَوْمُ نَحْسٍ مُسْتَمِرٍّ وَ يَجُوزُ النُّورَةُ فِي سَائِرِ الْأَيَّامِ
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع الْخِضَابُ هَدْيُ[1] مُحَمَّدٍ ص وَ هُوَ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ.
Hadith.274 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Dyeing (the hair or beard) is the tradition of Muhammad (sw) and it is part of the Sunnah."
وَ كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع- يَخْتَضِبُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَ الْكَتَمِ.
Hadith.280 - And Imam Ali ibn Al-Hussain (as) used to dye his hair with both henna and Al-Katam (plant-based black)."
لِعَلِيٍّ ع يَا عَلِيُّ دِرْهَمٌ فِي الْخِضَابِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ فِي غَيْرِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ فِيهِ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ خَصْلَةً يَطْرُدُ الرِّيحَ مِنَ الْأُذُنَيْنِ وَ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَ يُلَيِّنُ الْخَيَاشِيمَ وَ يُطَيِّبُ النَّكْهَةَ وَ يَشُدُّ اللِّثَةَ وَ يَذْهَبُ بِالضَّنَى[5] وَ يُقِلُّ وَسْوَسَةَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَ تَفْرَحُ بِهِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَ يَسْتَبْشِرُ بِهِ الْمُؤْمِنُ-
قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع غَسْلُ الرَّأْسِ بِالْخِطْمِيِّ يَذْهَبُ بِالدَّرَنِ وَ يُنَقِّي الْأَقْذَاءَ[1].
Hadith.293 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Washing the head with Al-khatmi (a type of herbal shampoo or marshmallow root) removes dirt and purifies impurities”.
مِنْ ذَلِكَ التَّمَشُّطُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ[2].
Hadith.318 - Abu Al-Hasan Imam Ali ibn Musa Ar-Ridha (as) was asked about the saying of Allah (swt), the Mighty and Glorious: 'Take your adornment at every place of worship.' (Surah Al-A’raf 7:31). Imam (as) said: "Part of that includes combing one's hair before every prayer”.
«وَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ لاَ يَرَى بِجَزِّ اَلشَّيْبِ بَأْساً وَ يَكْرَهُ نَتْفَهُ.
Hadith.339 - "It is reported that Imam Ali (as) saw no harm in cutting gray hair but disliked plucking it."
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ وُلْدِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَ هُوَ فِي السُّوقِ[1] وَ قَدْ وُجِّهَ لِغَيْرِ الْقِبْلَةِ فَقَالَ وَجِّهُوهُ إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ فَإِنَّكُمْ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمْ ذَلِكَ أَقْبَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَ أَقْبَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْهِ بِوَجْهِهِ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ كَذَلِكَ حَتَّى يُقْبَضَ.
Hadith.349 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "The Messenger of Allah (sw) entered upon a man from the descendants of Abdul Muttalib, while he was in the throes of death and was facing away from the Qibla. وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ وَثَّقَهُ مَلَكُ
Hadith.366 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "When a believer is at the point of death, the Angel of Death reassures (secures) them ; without this, they would not be able to remain settled."
إِنَّ وَلِيَّ عَلِيٍّ ع- يَرَاهُ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ مَوَاطِنَ حَيْثُ يَسُرُّهُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ وَ عِنْدَ الصِّرَاطِ وَ عِنْدَ الْحَوْضِ. وَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ يَدْفَعُ الشَّيْطَانَ عَنِ الْمُحَافِظِ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَ يُلَقِّنُهُ شَهَادَةَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فِي تِلْكَ الْحَالَةِ الْعَظِيمَةِ
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ يَوْمٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ مُثِّلَ لَهُ مَالُهُ وَ وُلْدُهُ وَ عَمَلُهُ فَيَلْتَفِتُ إِلَى مَالِهِ وَ يَقُولُ وَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ عَلَيْكَ لَحَرِيصاً شَحِيحاً فَمَا ذَا عِنْدَكَ[2] فَيَقُولُ خُذْ مِنِّي كَفَنَكَ فَيَلْتَفِتُ إِلَى وُلْدِهِ فَيَقُولُ وَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ لَكُمْ مُحِبّاً وَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ عَل
Hadith.370 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "When a servant is in their last day of this world and their first day of the Hereafter, their wealth, children, and deeds are presented before them. They turn to their wealth and say, 'By Allah (swt), I was extremely attached and miserly with
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع ضَمِنْتُ لِسِتَّةٍ الْجَنَّةَ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِصَدَقَةٍ فَمَاتَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ- وَ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ يَعُودُ مَرِيضاً فَمَاتَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ- وَ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ مُجَاهِداً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَمَاتَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ- وَ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ حَاجّاً فَمَاتَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ وَ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَمَاتَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ- وَ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ فِي جِنَازَةِ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ فَمَاتَ

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع- يَغْسِلُ الْمَيِّتَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ أَوْ مَنْ يَأْمُرُهُ الْوَلِيُّ بِذَلِكَ[5].
Hadith.391 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "The one who washes the deceased should be the closest person to them or the one whom the guardian (Wali) of the deceased appoints for this task."
غَسَلَهَا أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع لِأَنَّهَا كَانَتْ صِدِّيقَةً لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيَغْسِلَهَا إِلَّا صِدِّيقٌ.

وَ كَتَبَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ بِلاَلٍ إِلَى أَبِي اَلْحَسَنِ اَلثَّالِثِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: اَلرَّجُلُ يَمُوتُ فِي بِلاَدٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا نَخْلٌ فَهَلْ يَجُوزُ مَكَانَ اَلْجَرِيدَةِ شَيْءٌ مِنَ اَلشَّجَرِ غَيْرِ اَلنَّخْلِ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ آبَائِكُمْ عَلَيْهِمُ اَلسَّلاَمُ «أَنَّهُ يَتَجَافَى عَنْهُ اَلْعَذَابُ مَا دَامَتِ اَلْجَرِيدَتَانِ رَطْبَتَيْنِ وَ أَنَّهَا تَنْفَعُ اَلْمُؤْمِنَ وَ اَلْكَافِرَ » فَأَجَابَ

إِذَا كَانَ الْقُطْنُ أَكْثَرَ مِنَ الْقَزِّ فَلَا بَأْسَ.
Hadith.412 - Abu Al-Hasan the third, Imam Ali ibn Muhammad Al-Hadi (as), was asked about garments made in Basra similar to Yemeni fabric, made of silk (قز) and cotton (قطن), and whether they are suitable for shrouding the deceased. أَنَّ جَبْرَئِيلَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ أَتَى اَلنَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ بِأُوقِيَّةِ كَافُورٍ مِنَ اَلْجَنَّةِ وَ اَلْأُوقِيَّةُ أَرْبَعُونَ دِرْهَماً فَجَعَلَهَا اَلنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ ثَلاَثَةَ أَثْلاَثٍ ثُلُثاً لَهُ وَ ثُلُثاً لِعَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ وَ ثُلُثاً لِفَاطِمَةَ عَلَيْهَا اَلسَّلاَمُ.
Hadith.416 - Archangel Jibril (as), brought to the Prophet Muhammad (sw) an ounce of camphor from Paradise. An ounce in this context is equivalent to forty dirhams. The Prophet (sw) divided it into three parts: one part for himself, one part for Imam Ali (as), and one part for Sayyida Fatimah Al-Zahra {S.A}.
وَ سُئِلَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الثَّالِثُ ع هَلْ يُقَرَّبُ إِلَى الْمَيِّتِ الْمِسْكُ وَ الْبَخُورُ قَالَ نَعَمْ[3].
Hadith.424 - Abu Al-Hasan al-Thalith, Imam Ali ibn Muhammad Al-Hadi (as) was asked whether musk and incense (bukhoor) should be brought near the deceased. Imam (as) replied: "Yes."
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع إِذَا مَاتَ الْمَيِّتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ غُسِّلَ وَ حُنِّطَ وَ كُفِّنَ ثُمَّ يُوثَقُ فِي رِجْلِهِ حَجَرٌ وَ يُرْمَى بِهِ فِي الْمَاءِ.
Hadith.438 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "When a person dies at sea, they are washed, anointed (with Hunut), and shrouded. Then a stone should be tied to their leg, and they should be cast into the water."
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع[6]- الْمَرْجُومُ وَ الْمَرْجُومَةُ يُغَسَّلَانِ وَ يُحَنَّطَانِ وَ يُلْبَسَانِ الْكَفَنَ[7] قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ يُرْجَمَانِ وَ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِمَا وَ الْمُقْتَصُّ مِنْهُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ ذَلِكَ
Hadith.440 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said : "The man and woman sentenced to stoning should be washed, embalmed, and dressed in shrouds before being stoned, then they are to be stoned and prayers are to be offered for them (Salat Al Janazah). وَ فِي خَبَرٍ آخَرَ إِنَّ عَلِيّاً ع لَمْ يُغَسِّلْ- عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ وَ لَا هَاشِمَ بْنَ عُتْبَةَ وَ هُوَ الْمِرْقَالُ وَ دَفَنَهُمَا فِي ثِيَابِهِمَا بِدِمَائِهِمَا وَ لَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمَا[3]. هَكَذَا رُوِيَ لَكِنَّ الْأَصْلَ أَنْ لَا يَتْرُكَ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْأُمَّةِ إِذَا مَاتَ بِغَيْرِ صَلَاةٍ.
Hadith.442 - In another report, "Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), did not wash Ammar ibn Yasir and Hashim ibn Utbah (known as al-Mirqal). وَقَالَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: «يُنْزَعُ عَنِ اَلشَّهِيدِ اَلْفَرْوُ وَ اَلْخُفُّ وَ اَلْقَلَنْسُوَةُ وَ اَلْعِمَامَةُ وَ اَلْمِنْطَقَةُ وَ اَلسَّرَاوِيلُ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَصَابَهُ دَمٌ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ دَمٌ تُرِكَ وَ لاَ يُتْرَكُ عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ مَعْقُودٌ إِلاَّ حُلَّ.
Hadith.446 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "From a martyr, the fur, shoes, cap, turban, belt, and trousers should be removed, unless they have been stained with blood ; if they are stained with blood, they are to be left on. No tied item should remain on the body; it must be untied."
قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع- مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ أَرْبَعَةَ قَرَارِيطَ قِيرَاطٍ لِاتِّبَاعِهِ إِيَّاهَا وَ قِيرَاطٍ لِلصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْهَا وَ قِيرَاطٍ لِلِانْتِظَارِ حَتَّى يَفْرُغَ مِنْ دَفْنِهَا وَ قِيرَاطٍ لِلتَّعْزِيَةِ.
Hadith.451 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Whoever follows a funeral procession, Allah (swt) will record four qirats for them : one qirat for following the procession, one qirat for offering the funeral prayer, one qirat for waiting until the burial is completed, and one qirat for off
وَ كَتَبَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ إِلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ع يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ سَرِيرِ الْمَيِّتِ يُحْمَلُ أَ لَهُ جَانِبٌ يُبْدَأُ بِهِ فِي الْحَمْلِ مِنْ جَوَانِبِهِ الْأَرْبَعَةِ أَوْ مَا خَفَّ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ يَحْمِلُ مِنْ أَيِّ الْجَوَانِبِ شَاءَ فَكَتَبَ ع مِنْ أَيِّهَا شَاءَ.
Hadith.462 - Hussein ibn Saeed wrote to Abu Al-Hasan Imam Ali ibn Musa Ar-Ridha (as), asking about the bier of the deceased: Is there a specific side that should be carried first from among its four sides, or can one carry it from any side that is easiest? Imam (as) replied: "From whichever side he wishes."
وَ كَبَّرَ عَلِيٌّ ع- عَلَى سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ- خَمْساً وَ عِشْرِينَ تَكْبِيرَةً[6].
Hadith.469 - Imam Ali (as) recited twenty-five takbirs (Allahu Akbar) over Sahl ibn Hunayf.
كَانَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع يُكَبِّرُ خَمْساً خَمْساً كَانَ إِذَا أَدْرَكَهُ النَّاسُ قَالُوا يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَمْ نُدْرِكِ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَى سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ فَيَضَعُهُ فَيُكَبِّرُ عَلَيْهِ خَمْساً حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى قَبْرِهِ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ[1]. وَ مَنْ كَبَّرَ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ تَكْبِيرَةً أَوْ تَكْبِيرَتَيْنِ فَوُضِعَتْ جِنَازَةٌ أُخْرَى مَعَهَا فَإِنْ شَاءَ كَبَّرَ الْآنَ عَلَيْهِمَا خَمْسَ تَكْ
