وَ قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ص لَوْ سَعَّرْتَ لَنَا سِعْراً فَإِنَّ الْأَسْعَارَ تَزِيدُ وَ تَنْقُصُ فَقَالَ ع مَا كُنْتُ لِأَلْقَى اللَّهَ تَعَالَى بِبِدْعَةٍ لَمْ يُحَدِّثْ إِلَيَّ فِيهَا شَيْئاً فَدَعُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ يَأْكُلُ بَعْضُهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ وَ إِذَا اسْتُنْصِحْتُمْ فَانْصَحُوا[3].

Hadith.3969 - It was said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family: "Would you set a fixed price for us, for prices rise and fall?" The Prophet (sw) replied: "I would not meet Allah (swt), the Exalted, with an innovation about which He (swt) has revealed nothing to me. So leave the servants of All

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ يَا أَبَا الصَّبَّاحِ شِرَاءُ الدَّقِيقِ ذُلٌّ وَ شِرَاءُ الْحِنْطَةِ عِزٌّ وَ شِرَاءُ الْخُبْزِ فَقْرٌ فَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ[1].

Hadith.3971 - It is narrated from Abu Al-Sabbah Al-Kinani that Abu Abdullah (as), said: "O Abu Al-Sabbah! Buying flour is humiliation, buying wheat is honor, and buying bread is poverty. So seek refuge with Allah (swt) from poverty."

Hadith.3972 - It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, entered upon Aisha while she was counting pieces of bread. Prophet (sw) said: "O Humaira, do not count, lest it be counted against you."

قَالَ الصَّادِقُ ع‌[5] فِي الرَّجُلِ يَبِيعُ الشَّيْ‌ءَ فَيَقُولُ الْمُشْتَرِي هُوَ بِكَذَا وَ كَذَا بِأَقَلَّ مِمَّا قَالَ الْبَائِعُ قَالَ الْقَوْلُ قَوْلُ الْبَائِعِ إِذَا كَانَ الشَّيْ‌ءُ قَائِماً بِعَيْنِهِ مَعَ يَمِينِهِ‌[1].

Hadith.3975 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said regarding a man who sells something and the buyer claims that it was sold for a lower price than what the seller stated: "The statement of the seller is to be accepted if the item is still present in its original form, along with his oath."

أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ رَجُلٍ اشْتَرَى ضَيْعَةً وَ قَدْ كَانَ يَدْخُلُهَا وَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا فَلَمَّا أَنْ نَقَدَ الْمَالَ صَارَ إِلَى الضَّيْعَةِ فَفَتَّشَهَا ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَاسْتَقَالَ صَاحِبَهُ فَلَمْ يُقِلْهُ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع لَوْ قَلَّبَهَا وَ نَظَرَ مِنْهَا إِلَى تِسْعٍ وَ تِسْعِينَ قِطْعَةً ثُمَّ بَقِيَ مِنْهَا قِطْعَةٌ لَمْ يَرَهَا لَكَانَ لَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ خِيَارُ الرُّؤْيَةِ[2].

I asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about a man who purchased a property. He used to enter and leave it, but after paying the price and inspecting the property, he returned and requested the seller to annul the sale, but the seller refused. لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع رَجُلٌ اشْتَرَى زِقَّ زَيْتٍ فَوَجَدَ فِيهِ دُرْدِيّاً[4] فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ مِمَّنْ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ يَكُونُ فِي الزَّيْتِ لَمْ يَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ يَكُونُ فِي الزَّيْتِ رَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ‌[5].

قَالَ ع‌ مَنْ غَشَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ حُشِرَ مَعَ الْيَهُودِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لِأَنَّهُمْ أَغَشُّ النَّاسِ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ‌[3].

Hadith.3987 - Imam (as) said: "Whoever deceives the Muslims will be resurrected with the Jews on the Day of Judgment, because they are the most deceitful people towards the Muslims."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌[4] لَا يَتَلَقَّى أَحَدُكُمْ طَعَاماً خَارِجاً مِنَ الْمِصْرِ وَ لَا يَبِيعُ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ ذَرُوا الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَرْزُقِ اللَّهُ بَعْضَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ‌[5].

Hadith.3988 - The Messenger of Allah (swt) (may Allah (swt) bless him and his family) said: "None of you should intercept food outside the city, and no resident should sell on behalf of a visitor. Leave the Muslims so that Allah (swt) may provide for some of them through others."

أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ تَلَقِّي الْغَنَمِ فَقَالَ لَا تَلَقَّ وَ لَا تَشْتَرِ مَا تُلُقِّيَ وَ لَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْ لَحْمِ مَا تُلُقِّيَ‌[7].

I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about intercepting sheep. Imam (as) said: "Do not intercept, do not buy what has been intercepted, and do not eat the meat of what has been intercepted."

فِي رِوَايَةِ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ‌[3] عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ‌ دِرْهَمٌ رِبًا أَشَدُّ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ زَنْيَةً كُلِّهَا بِذَاتِ مَحْرَمٍ‌[4].

Hadith.3992 - In a narration from Hisham ibn Salim, from Abu Abdullah (as), he said: "One dirham of usury is more severe in the sight of Allah (swt) than seventy acts of fornication, all of which are committed with forbidden relatives."

قَالَ ع‌ كُلُّ رِبًا أَكَلَهُ النَّاسُ بِجَهَالَةٍ ثُمَّ تَابُوا فَإِنَّهُ يُقْبَلُ مِنْهُمْ إِذَا عُرِفَتْ مِنْهُمُ التَّوْبَةُ[5] وَ قَالَ ع لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا وَرِثَ مِنْ أَبِيهِ مَالًا وَ قَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ الْمَالِ رِبًا وَ لَكِنْ قَدِ اخْتَلَطَ فِي التِّجَارَةِ بِغَيْرِهِ فَإِنَّهُ لَهُ حَلَالٌ طَيِّبٌ فَلْيَأْكُلْهُ وَ إِنْ عَرَفَ مِنْهُ شَيْئاً

قَالَ ع‌ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أَدَارَ مَالًا كَثِيراً[2] قَدْ أَكْثَرَ فِيهِ مِنَ الرِّبَا فَجَهِلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ عَرَفَهُ بَعْدُ[3] فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْزِعَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَمَا مَضَى فَلَهُ وَ يَدَعُهُ فِيمَا يَسْتَأْنِفُ‌[4].

Hadith.3998 - Imam (as) said: "If any man manages a large amount of wealth and has excessively engaged in usury unknowingly, then later becomes aware of it and wishes to remove it, what has already passed is permissible for him, but he must refrain from it in the future."

لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ إِنَّ النَّاسَ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ الرِّبْحَ عَلَى الْمُضْطَرِّ حَرَامٌ وَ هُوَ مِنَ الرِّبَا فَقَالَ وَ هَلْ رَأَيْتَ أَحَداً اشْتَرَى غَنِيّاً أَوْ فَقِيراً[5] إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرُورَةٍ يَا عُمَرُ قَدْ أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ الْبَيْعَ وَ حَرَّمَ الرِّبا فَارْبَحْ وَ لَا تُرْبِهِ‌[6] قُلْتُ وَ مَا الرِّبَا قَالَ دَرَاهِمُ بِدَرَاهِمَ مِثْلَانِ بِمِثْلٍ‌[7].

Hadith.4004 - Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim narrated from Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) from his father, Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as), that Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) disliked the sale of meat in exchange for live animals.

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ‌ مَا كَانَ مِنْ طَعَامٍ مُخْتَلِفٍ‌[2] أَوْ مَتَاعٍ أَوْ شَيْ‌ءٍ مِنَ الْأَشْيَاءِ يَتَفَاضَلُ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِبَيْعِهِ مِثْلَيْنِ بِمِثْلٍ يَداً بِيَدٍ فَأَمَّا نَظِرَةً فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَصْلُحُ‌[3].

I heard Abu Abdullah (as) say: "There is no harm in selling different types of food, goods, or items that vary in value, two for one, if it is done hand-to-hand. However, if it is done on credit, then it is not permissible."

لَا يَصْلُحُ شَيْ‌ءٌ مِنْهُ اثْنَانِ بِوَاحِدٍ إِلَّا أَنْ تَصْرِفَهُ مِنْ نَوْعٍ إِلَى نَوْعٍ آخَرَ[3] فَإِذَا صَرَفْتَهُ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ اثْنَانِ بِوَاحِدٍ وَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ‌[4].

Hadith.4014 - Sama'ah asked him about food, dates, and raisins. Imam (as) said: "It is not permissible to exchange two for one of any of these, except if you change it from one type to another. When you change it, then there is no harm in exchanging two for one or even more than that."

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع يَقُولُ‌ يَكْرَهُ وَسْقاً مِنْ تَمْرِ الْمَدِينَةِ بِوَسْقَيْنِ مِنْ تَمْرِ خَيْبَرَ لِأَنَّ تَمْرَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَجْوَدُهُمَا[5] قَالَ وَ كَرِهَ أَنْ يُبَاعَ التَّمْرُ بِالرُّطَبِ عَاجِلًا بِمِثْلِ كَيْلِهِ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّ الرُّطَبَ يَيْبَسُ فَيَنْقُصُ مِنْ كَيْلِهِ‌[6].
