مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ يَمُوتُ فِي أَرْضِ غُرْبَةٍ تَغِيبُ عَنْهُ فِيهَا بَوَاكِيهِ إِلَّا بَكَتْهُ بِقَاعُ الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي كَانَ يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْهَا وَ بَكَتْهُ أَثْوَابُهُ وَ بَكَتْهُ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ يَصْعَدُ فِيهَا عَمَلُهُ وَ بَكَاهُ الْمَلَكَانِ الْمُوَكَّلَانِ بِهِ.

Hadith.2509 - In the will of the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings of Allah (swt) be upon him and his family) to Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as), he said: "O Ali, when you approach a city or village, say as you behold it: 'O Allah (swt), I ask You for its goodness, and I seek refuge in

إِذَا انْتَهَيْتَ إِلَى الْعَقِيقِ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْعِرَاقِ أَوْ إِلَى وَقْتٍ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْمَوَاقِيتِ وَ أَنْتَ تُرِيدُ الْإِحْرَامَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَانْتِفْ إِبْطَيْكَ[2] وَ قَلِّمْ أَظْفَارَكَ وَ اطْلِ عَانَتَكَ وَ خُذْ مِنْ شَارِبِكَ وَ لَا يَضُرُّكَ بِأَيِّ ذَلِكَ بَدَأْتَ ثُمَّ اسْتَكْ وَ اغْتَسِلْ وَ الْبَسْ ثَوْبَيْكَ[3] وَ لْيَكُنْ فَرَاغُكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ

"When you reach Al-‘Aqiq coming from Iraq, or any of the designated miqats (stations for Ihram), and you intend to enter Ihram, if Allah (swt) wills, then remove the hair from your underarms, trim your nails, clean your private area, and trim your mustache. It does not matter in which order you begin these actions. The

وَ فِي رِوَايَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ‌ لَا بَأْسَ أَنْ يُحْرِمَ الرَّجُلُ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْمُعْلَمِ وَ تَرْكُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ إِذَا قَدَرَ عَلَى غَيْرِهِ.

Hadith.2605 - In a narration from Mu'awiyah ibn Ammar, from Abu Abdullah (as), he said: "There is no harm if a man enters Ihram wearing an embroidered garment, but avoiding it is more beloved to me if he has the means to wear something else."

أَنَّ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الثَّانِيَ ع قَالَ‌ يَذْبَحُ الصَّيْدَ وَ يَأْكُلُهُ وَ يَفْدِي أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيْتَةِ[5].

Hadith.2734 - Abu Ja'far al-Thani, Imam Muhammad al-Jawad (as) said: "Slaughtering the game, eating it, and paying the expiation is more beloved to me than eating carrion."

أَبَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ ع عَنْ زِيَارَةِ الْبَيْتِ تُؤَخَّرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ‌[3] فَقَالَ تَعْجِيلُهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ وَ لَيْسَ بِهِ بَأْسٌ إِنْ أَخَّرْتَهُ‌[4].

I asked Abu Ibrahim (as) about delaying the visitation of the Kaaba (Tawaf al-Ziyara) until the third day. Imam (as) said: "Performing it earlier is more beloved to me, but there is no harm if you delay it."

أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ع عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَسْعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَ الْمَرْوَةِ فَيَسْعَى ثَلَاثَةَ أَشْوَاطٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعَةً فَيَلْقَاهُ الصَّدِيقُ فَيَدْعُوهُ إِلَى الْحَاجَةِ أَوْ إِلَى الطَّعَامِ قَالَ إِنْ أَجَابَهُ فَلَا بَأْسَ وَ لَكِنْ يَقْضِي حَقَّ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ يَقْضِيَ حَقَّ صَاحِبِهِ‌[5].

I asked Abu al-Hasan (as) about a man performing Sa'i (ritual walking) between Safa and Marwah. If he completes three or four circuits and then meets a friend who invites him to fulfill a need or to have food, what should he do? Imam (as) replied: "If he responds to him, there is no harm in it, but fulfilling the right

إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ حَجَّ وَ لَا يَدْرِي وَ لَا يَعْرِفُ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ ثُمَّ مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ بِمَعْرِفَتِهِ وَ الدَّيْنُونَةِ بِهِ أَ عَلَيْهِ حَجَّةُ الْإِسْلَامِ قَالَ قَدْ قَضَى فَرِيضَةَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ الْحَجُّ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَ‌[3].

Hadith.2883 - Umar ibn Udhaynah narrated: I wrote to Abu Abdullah (as) asking about a man who performed Hajj without knowing or recognizing this [truthful] matter. Then Allah (swt) blessed him with understanding and adherence to it. Is the Hajj of Islam still obligatory upon him? Imam (as) replied: "He has fulfilled th

لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَدْ عَرَفْتَنِي بِعَمَلِي‌[2] تَأْتِينِي الْمَرْأَةُ أَعْرِفُهَا بِإِسْلَامِهَا وَ حُبِّهَا إِيَّاكُمْ وَ وَلَايَتِهَا لَكُمْ لَيْسَ لَهَا مَحْرَمٌ قَالَ إِذَا جَاءَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ الْمُسْلِمَةُ فَاحْمِلْهَا[3] فَإِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ مَحْرَمُ الْمُؤْمِنَةِ ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَ الْمُؤْمِناتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِياءُ بَعْضٍ‌.

I said to Abu Abdullah (as): "You know my profession. A woman comes to me, and I know her to be Muslim, to love you, and to hold your guardianship (wilayah), but she has no mahram (close male relative)." Imam (as) said: "If a Muslim woman comes, then take her, for a believer is a mahram for a believing woman." He then

وَ قَالَ ع‌ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ بُقْعَةً أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنَ الْكَعْبَةِ وَ لَا أَكْرَمَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهَا وَ لَهَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- الْأَشْهُرَ الْحُرُمَ الْأَرْبَعَةَ فِي كِتَابِهِ‌ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ‌ ثَلَاثَةٌ مِنْهَا مُتَوَالِيَةٌ لِلْحَجِّ وَ شَهْرٌ مُفْرَدٌ لِلْعُمْرَةِ رَجَبٌ‌[3].

Hadith.2961 - Imam (as) said: "Allah (swt), the Exalted, has not created on the earth a spot more beloved to Him than the Ka'bah, nor more honored by Him. For its sake, Allah (swt), the Exalted, sanctified the four sacred months in His Book 'on the day He created the heavens and the earth' (Surah At-Tawbah 9:36). Three

لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع إِنَّ أَبِي قَدْ حَجَّ وَ وَالِدَتِي قَدْ حَجَّتْ وَ إِنَّ أَخَوَيَّ قَدْ حَجَّا وَ قَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُدْخِلَهُمْ فِي حَجَّتِي كَأَنِّي قَدْ أَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ يَكُونُوا مَعِي فَقَالَ اجْعَلْهُمْ مَعَكَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ جَاعِلٌ لَهُمْ حَجّاً وَ لَكَ حَجّاً وَ لَكَ أَجْراً بِصِلَتِكَ إِيَّاهُمْ‌[5].

Hadith.2971 - Mu'awiyah ibn Ammar narrated: I said to Abu Abdullah (as): "My father has performed Hajj, my mother has performed Hajj, and my two brothers have also performed Hajj. I wish to include them in my Hajj, as I would love for them to be with me." Imam (as) said: "Include them with you. Allah (swt), the Exalted

وَ وَقَفَ النَّبِيُّ ص‌[4] بِعَرَفَةَ فِي مَيْسَرَةِ الْجَبَلِ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَبْتَدِرُونَ‌

Hadith.2980 - The Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) stood at Arafat on the left side of the mountain. People rushed to the place where the hooves of his camel had been, trying to stand beside it. He moved the camel away, but they repeated the same behavior. He (sw) said: "O people, it is not the spot beneath t

الْمُقَامُ بِمِنًى أَحَبُّ إِلَيَ‌[2].

Hadith.3014 - Laith Al-Muradi asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a man who goes to Mecca during the days of Mina after completing the visitation of the House and performs Tawaf around the Kaaba voluntarily. Imam (as) replied: "Staying in Mina is more beloved to me."

وَ لَمَّا دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص الْمَدِينَةَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إِلَيْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ كَمَا حَبَّبْتَ إِلَيْنَا مَكَّةَ أَوْ أَشَدَّ وَ بَارِكْ فِي صَاعِهَا وَ مُدِّهَا وَ انْقُلْ حُمَّاهَا وَ وَبَاهَا إِلَى الْجُحْفَةِ[1].

Hadith.3155 - When the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) entered Medina, he said: "O Allah (swt), make Medina beloved to us as You made Mecca beloved to us, or even more so. Bless its sa‘ (a measure of weight) and its mudd (a smaller measure of weight), and transfer its fever and pestilence to

وَ إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تُوَدِّعَهُ فَقُلْ‌[2] السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ أَسْتَوْدِعُكَ اللَّهَ وَ أَسْتَرْعِيكَ وَ أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَ بِالرَّسُولِ وَ بِمَا جَاءَتْ بِهِ وَ دَلَّتْ عَلَيْهِ‌ فَاكْتُبْنا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ‌[3] أَشْهَدُ فِي مَمَاتِي عَلَى مَا شَهِدْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي حَيَاتِي أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكُمُ الْأَئِمَّةُ وَاحِداً بَعْدَ وَاحِدٍ وَ أَشْهَدُ أَنّ

Hadith.3198 - When you wish to bid farewell to him, say: "Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah (swt) and His blessings. I entrust you to Allah (swt) and place you under His care. I send peace upon you. We believe in Allah (swt), in the Messenger, and in what has been brought and indicated by them. ‘So write us dow

إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تُوَدِّعَهُ فَقُلْ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ نَسْتَوْدِعُكَ اللَّهَ وَ نَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَ بِالرَّسُولِ وَ بِمَا جَاءَ بِهِ وَ دَلَّ عَلَيْهِ‌ وَ اتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُولَ‌ يَا رَبِ‌ فَاكْتُبْنا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ‌ اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنَّا وَ مِنْهُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَنْفَعَنَا بِحُبِّهِ اللَّهُمَّ ابْ

FAREWELL Hadith.3200 - Narrated by Yusuf al-Kunasi from Abu Abdullah (as): "When you wish to bid him farewell, say: 'Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah (swt) and His blessings. We entrust you to Allah (swt), and we send peace upon you. We believe in Allah (swt), in the Messenger, and in what he brought and guide

إِذَا أَرَدْتَ زِيَارَةَ قَبْرَيْهِمَا فَاغْتَسِلْ وَ تَنَظَّفْ وَ اِلْبَسْ ثَوْبَيْكَ اَلطَّاهِرَيْنِ فَإِنْ وَصَلْتَ إِلَى قَبْرَيْهِمَا وَ إِلاَّ أَوْمَأْتَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اَلْبَابِ اَلَّذِي عَلَى اَلشَّارِعِ إِنْ شَاءَ اَللَّهُ وَ تَقُولُ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمَا يَا وَلِيَّيِ اَللَّهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمَا يَا حُجَّتَيِ اَللَّهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمَا يَا نُورَيِ اَللَّهِ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ اَلْأَرْضِ أَتَيْتُكُمَا عَ

Hadith.3211 - When you wish to visit their graves, perform ghusl (ritual purification), clean yourself, and wear two clean garments. If you can reach their graves, then do so. Otherwise, gesture towards them from the gate facing the street, if Allah (swt) wills, and say: "Peace be upon you both, O the allies of Allah (

فَرُفِعَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَلَمْ يَدْرِ كَيْفَ يَقْضِي فِي ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ لِلرَّجُلِ اذْهَبْ بِهَا إِلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَأَتَوْا عَلِيّاً وَ قَصُّوا عَلَيْهِ الْقِصَّةَ فَقَالَ لِامْرَأَةِ الرَّجُلِ أَ لَكِ بَيِّنَةٌ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ هَؤُلَاءِ جِيرَانِي‌[2] يَشْهَدْنَ عَلَيْهَا بِمَا أَقُولُ فَأَخْرَجَ عَلِيٌّ ع السَّيْفَ مِنْ غِمْدِهِ وَ طَرَحَهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِكُلِّ وَ

A woman was brought before Umar ibn al-Khattab, and witnesses testified against her that she had committed adultery. Her story was that she was an orphan raised in the house of a man who had a wife. The man would frequently be away from home. The orphan grew up to be beautiful, and the man's wife feared that her husban

مَا عِنْدِي مَا أُعْطِيكُمْ وَ لَكِنِ ارْضَوْا بِمَنْ شِئْتُمْ مِنْ أَخِي وَ بَنِي عَمِّي عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ أَوْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ[3] فَقَالَ الْغُرَمَاءُ أَمَّا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ فَمَلِيٌّ مَطُولٌ‌[4] وَ أَمَّا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ لَا مَالَ لَهُ صَدُوقٌ وَ هُوَ أَحَبُّهُمَا إِلَيْنَا فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ فَأَخْبَرَهُ الْخَبَرَ فَقَالَ ع أَضْمَنُ لَكُمُ الْمَالَ إِلَى غَلَّةٍ

Hadith.3407 - It is narrated: When Abdullah ibn al-Hasan was on his deathbed, his creditors gathered around him and demanded repayment of their debts. He replied: "I do not have anything to give you, but accept as your guarantor whomever you wish from my brother and my cousins- Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn (as) or Abdullah i

إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى لَيُحِبُّ الِاغْتِرَابَ[4] فِي طَلَبِ الرِّزْقِ.

Hadith.3571 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "Indeed, Allah (swt), Blessed and Exalted, loves traveling in pursuit of sustenance."

إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّ أَنْ أَرَى الرَّجُلَ مُتَحَرِّفاً[2] فِي طَلَبِ الرِّزْقِ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ- اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِأُمَّتِي فِي بُكُورِهَا[3].

Hadith.3573 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "I love to see a man striving in pursuit of sustenance. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: 'O Allah (swt), bless my nation in their early mornings.'"

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يُحِبُّ الْمُحْتَرِفَ الْأَمِينَ.

Hadith.3580 - Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah (swt), Blessed and Exalted, loves the trustworthy worker."

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ عَلَّمْتُ ابْنِي هَذَا الْكِتَابَ فَفِي أَيِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ أُسْلِمُهُ فَقَالَ أَسْلِمْهُ لِلَّهِ أَبُوكَ وَ لَا تُسْلِمْهُ فِي خَمْسٍ لَا تُسْلِمْهُ سَيَّاءً وَ لَا صَائِغاً وَ لَا قَصَّاباً وَ لَا حَنَّاطاً وَ لَا نَخَّاساً فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَ مَا السَّيَّاءُ[4] قَالَ الَّذِي يَبِيعُ الْأَكْفَانَ وَ يَتَمَنَّى مَوْتَ أُمَّتِي وَ لَلْمَوْلُودُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا طَلَعَ

A man came to the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, and said: "O Messenger of Allah (swt), I have taught my son to read and write. In what profession should I place him?" The Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, replied:"Entrust him to Allah (swt) and do not place him in five professions: Do not make him

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ‌ مَا مِنْ نَفَقَةٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنْ نَفَقَةِ قَصْدٍ وَ يُبْغِضُ الْإِسْرَافَ إِلَّا فِي الْحَجِّ وَ الْعُمْرَةِ فَرَحِمَ اللَّهُ مُؤْمِناً كَسَبَ طَيِّباً وَ أَنْفَقَ مِنْ قَصْدٍ أَوْ قَدَّمَ فَضْلًا[1].

Hadith.3621 - Ibn Abi Ya'fur narrated from Abu Abdullah (as) that he said: "The Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'There is no spending more beloved to Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, than moderate spending. He (swt) dislikes extravagance, except in Hajj and Umrah. May Allah (swt)

وَ أَتَى رَجُلٌ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌[4] فَقَالَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ وَ لَكِنِّي أُبْغِضُكَ قَالَ وَ لِمَ قَالَ لِأَنَّكَ تَبْغِي فِي الْأَذَانِ كَسْباً وَ تَأْخُذُ عَلَى تَعْلِيمِ الْقُرْآنِ أَجْراً.

Hadith.3674 - A man came to the Commander of the Faithful (as) and said: "O Commander of the Faithful, by Allah (swt), I love you." Imam (as) said to him: "But I dislike you." The man asked: "Why?" Imam (as) replied: "Because you seek profit through the call to prayer (Adhan) and take payment for teaching the Quran."

إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يُحِبُّ الْعَبْدَ يَكُونُ سَهْلَ الْبَيْعِ سَهْلَ الشِّرَاءِ سَهْلَ الْقَضَاءِ سَهْلَ الِاقْتِضَاءِ[4]

Hadith.3737 - The Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Indeed, Allah (swt), the Blessed and Exalted, loves a servant who is easygoing in selling, easygoing in buying, easygoing in settling debts, and easygoing in demanding repayment."

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ص فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ شَرِّ بِقَاعِ الْأَرْضِ وَ خَيْرِ بِقَاعِ الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص شَرُّ بِقَاعِ الْأَرْضِ الْأَسْوَاقُ وَ هِيَ مَيْدَانُ إِبْلِيسَ يَغْدُو بِرَايَتِهِ وَ يَضَعُ كُرْسِيَّهُ وَ يَبُثُّ ذُرِّيَّتَهُ فَبَيْنَ مُطَفِّفٍ فِي قَفِيزٍ أَوْ طَائِشٍ فِي مِيزَانٍ‌[1] أَوْ سَارِقٍ فِي ذَرْعٍ أَوْ كَاذِبٍ فِي

Hadith.3751 - The Commander of the Faithful (as) said: A Bedouin from the tribe of Banu 'Amir came to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and asked him about the worst and the best places on earth. The Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "The worst places on earth are the market

سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ وَ أَنَا عِنْدَهُ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ اِحْتَاجَ إِلَى بَيْعِ دَارِهِ فَجَاءَ إِلَى أَخِيهِ فَقَالَ أَبِيعُكَ دَارِي هَذِهِ فَتَكُونُ لَكَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ تَكُونَ لِغَيْرِكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَشْتَرِطَ لِي إِنْ أَنَا جِئْتُكَ بِثَمَنِهَا إِلَى سَنَةٍ أَنْ تَرُدَّهَا عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ "لاَ بَأْسَ بِهَذَا إِنْ جَاءَ بِثَمَنِهَا إِلَى سَنَةٍ رَدَّهَا عَلَيْهِ" قُلْتُ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ فِيهَا غَلَّةٌ كَ

Hadith.3771 - Ishaq ibn Ammar narrated from Abu Abdillah (as): A man asked him while I was present, saying: "A Muslim man needed to sell his house, so he came to his brother and said: 'I will sell you my house. It is more beloved to me that it belongs to you than to someone else, on the condition that if I bring you it

قَالَ ع‌ تَهَادَوْا تَحَابُّوا[3].

Hadith.4067 - Imam (as) said: "Exchange gifts (with one another), and you will love one another."

لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع إِنِّي كُنْتُ اسْتَوْدَعْتُ رَجُلًا مَالًا فَجَحَدَنِيهِ وَ حَلَفَ لِي عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ جَاءَنِي بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ بِسَنَتَيْنِ‌[2] بِالْمَالِ الَّذِي أَوْدَعْتُهُ إِيَّاهُ فَقَالَ هَذَا مَالُكَ فَخُذْهُ وَ هَذِهِ أَرْبَعَةُ آلَافِ دِرْهَمٍ رَبِحْتُهَا فَهِيَ لَكَ مَعَ مَالِكَ وَ اجْعَلْنِي فِي حِلٍّ فَأَخَذْتُ مِنْهُ الْمَالَ وَ أَبَيْتُ أَنْ آخُذَ الرِّبْحَ مِنْهُ وَ وَقَفْتُ الْمَالَ الّ

I said to Abu Abdullah (as): "I had entrusted a man with some wealth, but he denied it and swore an oath against it. After two years, he returned to me with the wealth I had entrusted him and said, This is your wealth, take it. And here are four thousand dirhams I earned as profit, it is also yours. Please forgive me.'

إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى لَيُبْغِضُ الْبَيْتَ اللَّحِمَ‌[6] وَ اللَّحِمَ السَّمِينَ فَقَالَ ع إِنَّا لَنَأْكُلُ اللَّحْمَ وَ نُحِبُّهُ وَ إِنَّمَا عَنَى ع الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي تُؤْكَلُ فِيهِ لُحُومُ النَّاسِ بِالْغِيبَةِ وَ عَنَى بِاللَّحِمِ السَّمِينِ الْمُتَبَخْتِرَ الْمُخْتَالَ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ.

Hadith.4231 - It was said to Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as): "We have heard that the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: 'Indeed, Allah (swt), the Blessed and Exalted, despises the house filled with meat and the fattened meat.'" يُعْطَى ضَعِيفاً مِنْ غَيْرِ أَهْلِ اَلْوَلاَيَةِ قَالَ "نَعَمْ وَ أَهْلُ اَلْوَلاَيَةِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ ".

Hadith.4325 - Ishaq ibn Ammar asked Abu Ibrahim (Imam Musa ibn Jafar Al-Kadhim (as)) whether it is permissible to give expiation to someone who is weak but not from the people of wilayah (those who follow the Ahlulbayt). Imam (as) said: "Yes, but the people of wilayah are more beloved to me."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ مَا بُنِيَ بِنَاءٌ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى مِنَ التَّزْوِيجِ.

Hadith.4343 - Abdullah ibn al-Hakam narrated from Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) that the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "No structure in Islam is more beloved to Allah (swt), the Exalted, than marriage."

سَمِعْتُ الصَّادِقَ ع يَقُولُ‌ الْعَبْدُ كُلَّمَا ازْدَادَ لِلنِّسَاءِ حُبّاً ازْدَادَ فِي الْإِيمَانِ فَضْلًا.

Hadith.4350 - Abu Malik al-Hadrami narrated from Abu al-Abbas, who said that he heard Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) say: "The more love a servant has for women, the greater he increases in faith and virtue."

مَا أَظُنُّ رَجُلًا يَزْدَادُ فِي الْإِيمَانِ خَيْراً إِلَّا ازْدَادَ حُبّاً لِلنِّسَاءِ[6].

Hadith.4351 - In a narration from Aban, from Umar ibn Yazid, Abu Abdillah (as) said: "I do not think that a man increases in faith and goodness except that he also increases in love for women."

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع إِنَّ صَاحِبَتِي هَلَكَتْ وَ كَانَتْ لِي مُوَافِقَةً وَ قَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَتَزَوَّجَ فَقَالَ انْظُرْ أَيْنَ تَضَعُ نَفْسَكَ وَ مَنْ تُشْرِكُهُ فِي مَالِكَ وَ تُطْلِعُهُ عَلَى دِينِكَ وَ سِرِّكَ وَ أَمَانَتِكَ فَإِنْ كُنْتَ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلًا فَبِكْراً تُنْسَبُ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَ إِلَى حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ- أَلَا إِنَّ النِّسَاءَ خُلِقْنَ شَتَّى‌ فَمِنْهُنَّ الْغَنِيمَةُ وَ الْغَرَامُ‌ وَ

I said to Abu Abdillah (as), "My wife has passed away. She was compatible with me, and I am thinking about getting married." Imam (as) said: "Consider carefully where you place yourself, with whom you share your wealth, and to whom you reveal your religion, secrets, and trust. If you must proceed, then marry a virgin w

كُنَّا جُلُوساً مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ فَتَذَاكَرْنَا النِّسَاءَ وَ فَضْلَ بَعْضِهِنَّ عَلَى بَعْضٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَ لَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ نِسَائِكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَأَخْبِرْنَا قَالَ إِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ نِسَائِكُمُ الْوَلُودَ الْوَدُودَ السَّتِيرَةَ الْعَفِيفَةَ الْعَزِيزَةَ فِي أَهْلِهَا الذَّلِيلَةَ مَعَ بَعْلِهَا الْمُتَبَرِّجَةَ مَعَ زَوْجِهَا الْحَصَانَ مَعَ غَيْرِهِ الّ

We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) when we began discussing women and the virtues of some over others. The Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Shall I not inform you of the best of your women?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah (swt),

قَالَ ع‌ اعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ السَّوْدَاءَ[1] إِذَا كَانَتْ وَلُوداً أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الْحَسْنَاءِ الْعَاقِرِ.

Hadith.4378 - Imam (as) said: "Know that a dark-skinned woman who bears many children is more beloved to me than a beautiful woman who is barren."

إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمْ أَهْلَهُ فَلْيَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ فَإِنَّ مَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ الْجِمَاعِ وَ كَانَ مِنْهُ وَلَدٌ كَانَ ذَلِكَ شِرْكَ شَيْطَانٍ وَ يُعْرَفُ ذَلِكَ بِحُبِّنَا وَ بُغْضِنَا[1]

Hadith.4414 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as), said: "If one of you approaches his wife, let him remember Allah (swt), for whoever does not remember Allah (swt) during intercourse, and a child is born from it, that child will have a share of Satan's partnership. This can be recognized by the child's love or hatre

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْيَهُودِيَّةَ وَ النَّصْرَانِيَّةَ فَقَالَ إِذَا أَصَابَ الْمُسْلِمَةَ فَمَا يَصْنَعُ بِالْيَهُودِيَّةِ وَ النَّصْرَانِيَّةِ قُلْتُ يَكُونُ لَهُ فِيهَا الْهَوَى قَالَ فَإِنْ فَعَلَ فَلْيَمْنَعْهَا مِنْ شُرْبِ الْخَمْرِ وَ أَكْلِ لَحْمِ الْخِنْزِيرِ وَ اعْلَمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِ فِي دِينِهِ فِي تَزْوِيجِهِ إِيَّاهَا غَضَاضَةً[2].

He said: I asked Imam (as) about a believing man marrying a Jewish or Christian woman. Imam (as) replied: "If he has access to a Muslim woman, what need does he have for a Jewish or Christian woma

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ تَكُونُ عِنْدَهُ امْرَأَتَانِ إِحْدَاهُمَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنَ الْأُخْرَى قَالَ لَهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهَا ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ وَ الْأُخْرَى لَيْلَةً فَإِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ أَرْبَعَ نِسْوَةٍ كَانَ لِكُلِّ امْرَأَةٍ لَيْلَةٌ فَلِذَلِكَ كَانَ لَهُ أَنْ يُفَضِّلَ بَعْضَهُنَّ عَلَى بَعْضٍ مَا لَمْ يَكُنَّ أَرْبَعاً[2].

I asked him about a man who has two wives, one of whom is more beloved to him than the other. Imam (as) said: "He may spend three nights with her and one night with the other. However, if he wishes to marry four wives, then each wife is entitled to one night. Therefore, it is permissible for him to prefer some of them

أَلْهِمُوهُنَّ حُبَّ عَلِيٍّ ع وَ ذَرُوهُنَّ بَلْهَاءَ[2].

"Inspire them with the love of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) and leave them in their natural simplicity."

لَبَنُ الْيَهُودِيَّةِ وَ النَّصْرَانِيَّةِ وَ الْمَجُوسِيَّةِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ لَبَنِ وَلَدِ الزِّنَا[2] وَ كَانَ لَا يَرَى بَأْساً بِلَبَنِ وَلَدِ الزِّنَا إِذَا جَعَلَ مَوْلَى الْجَارِيَةِ الَّذِي فَجَرَ بِالْجَارِيَةِ فِي حِلٍ‌[3].

"The milk of a Jewish, Christian, or Magian woman is more beloved to me than the milk of a child born from adultery. However, he saw no harm in the milk of a child born from adultery if the master of the bondwoman, with whom the immoral act was committed, pardons it."

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَيَرْحَمُ الرَّجُلَ لِشِدَّةِ حُبِّهِ لِوَلَدِهِ

Hadith.4695 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "Indeed, Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, has mercy on a man because of the intensity of his love for his child."

قَالَ ع‌ أَحِبُّوا الصِّبْيَانَ وَ ارْحَمُوهُمْ وَ إِذَا وَعَدْتُمُوهُمْ فَفُوا لَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يَرَوْنَ إِلَّا أَنَّكُمْ تَرْزُقُونَهُمْ.

Hadith.4702 - The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: "Love the children and have mercy on them. When you promise them something, fulfill it for them, for they only perceive that you are the ones who provide for them."

قَالَ ع‌ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- وَ أَمَّا الْغُلامُ فَكانَ أَبَواهُ مُؤْمِنَيْنِ فَخَشِينا أَنْ يُرْهِقَهُما طُغْياناً وَ كُفْراً فَأَرَدْنا أَنْ يُبْدِلَهُما رَبُّهُما خَيْراً مِنْهُ زَكاةً وَ أَقْرَبَ رُحْماً قَالَ أَبْدَلَهُمَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَكَانَ الِابْنِ ابْنَةً فَوُلِدَ مِنْهَا سَبْعُونَ نَبِيّاً.

Hadith.4738 - Imam (as) said regarding the words of Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic: "As for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared that he would overwhelm them with transgression and disbelief. So we intended that their Lord (azj) should replace him for them with one better in purity and closer in aff

عَلِيٌّ خَيْرُ الْبَشَرِ فَمَنْ أَبَى فَقَدْ كَفَرَ يَا مَعَاشِرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَدِّبُوا أَوْلَادَكُمْ عَلَى حُبِّ عَلِيٍّ فَمَنْ أَبَى فَانْظُرُوا فِي شَأْنِ أُمِّهِ‌[1].

مَنْ وَجَدَ بَرْدَ حُبِّنَا عَلَى قَلْبِهِ فَلْيُكْثِرِ الدُّعَاءَ لِأُمِّهِ فَإِنَّهَا لَمْ تَخُنْ أَبَاهُ[2]. وَ كَانَ الصَّبِيُّ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا وَقَعَ الشَّكُّ فِي نَسَبِهِ عُرِضَتْ عَلَيْهِ وَلَايَةُ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فَإِنْ قَبِلَهَا أُلْحِقَ نَسَبُهُ بِمَنْ يَنْتَمِي إِلَيْهِ وَ إِنْ أَنْكَرَهَا نُفِيَ[3]

Hadith.4745 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "Whoever feels the coolness of our (Ahlulbayt (as)) love in his heart should frequently pray for his mother, for she did not betray his father."

رَوَى الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ الصَّحَّافُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ‌ أَنَّ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ عَلِيَّ بْنَ مُوسَى الرِّضَا ع كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ فِيمَا كَتَبَ مِنْ جَوَابِ مَسَائِلِهِ عِلَّةُ الطَّلَاقِ ثَلَاثاً لِمَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْمُهْلَةِ فِيمَا بَيْنَ الْوَاحِدَةِ إِلَى الثَّلَاثِ لِرَغْبَةٍ تَحْدُثُ أَوْ سُكُونِ غَضَبٍ إِنْ كَانَ وَ لْيَكُنْ ذَلِكَ تَخْوِيفاً وَ تَأْدِيباً لِلنِّسَاءِ وَ زَجْراً لَهُنَّ عَنْ مَعْصِ

مَتِّعُوهُنَّ أَيْ جَمِّلُوهُنَ‌[1] بِمَا قَدَرْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ مَعْرُوفٍ فَإِنَّهُنَّ يَرْجِعْنَ بِكَآبَةٍ وَ وَحْشَةٍ وَ هَمٍّ عَظِيمٍ وَ شَمَاتَةٍ مِنْ أَعْدَائِهِنَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحْيِي وَ يُحِبُّ أَهْلَ الْحَيَاءِ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ أَشَدُّكُمْ إِكْرَاماً لِحَلَائِلِهِمْ.
